I have an English ivy that’s growing leaves with 4 points instead of the large 3 prong shape. I think it was due to cold weather for a few weeks and it may revert but it’s interesting to see the new leaves come in this way.

Actually, after thinking about it, I'm thinking you're asking why you've a double-flowered mutation? Well, mutations can happen regardless of external factors. Yes - chemicals can induce them, conditions etc, but they can happen anyway. That's what drives evolution.

Check out my dandelion video. You have some awesome orchids, I painted a dendrophyllax lindenii in oils once. My best guess is the dandelion seed flew into the danger zone during times of high solar activity.
