!!! that is a very hairy boi! I have a mystery nep that is so fuzzy it's leaves are tan, when it finally gives me a pitcher I'll know to look for yellow to see if it has chaniana in it :3

Quick question: My sundew (species unknown but it looks like a completely green cape sundew) is not producing dew, and its new leaves are going brown even before growing "dew hairs", and mature leaves are going brown more quickly than normal. I live somewhere with a climate like Florida's, and I put the sundew on my balcony in full sun (definitely 6 hours or more hours of direct sunlight per day). It's getting collected rainwater in a tray. Is it getting too much sunlight? Or is it getting burnt in the sun? Thanks in advance!

It may be adjusting out to the sun still if you got it recently or it is just too much sun right now. Especially if you have no significant drop in night time temperature, that may be a little bit too much for the plant. Try moving it to a place with full morning sun and see if it starts to grow new leaves. A lot of sundews will also regrow from the roots so don’t give up!

I've had a nepenthes for many years and it's never bloomed. Hybridization sounds like fun. Does it need more light to bloom?

It can depend a lot on the species as well as the care, plants like Nepenthes rajah can take 20 years to bloom! But it may need more light and an application of foliar fertilizer to help give it a boost! We have all of our fertilizing tips on our website!

We don’t have any at the moment, the pure species is a bit rare in cultivation. I have a nice hybrid that’s getting ready for sale soon though!
