The knee itself is stable feels strong ! No pain when resting no knee locking ! When standing with straigt leg the sharp pain comes on immediatly so as I hao continue walking eith small strides and somewhatt with flexed knee ! I have no injury or collision history of the knee ! I am 72 years active person and daily active dog trainer and frequent bicyclist !!Could the condition be from this muscle overused or the upper part of the muscle tendonitis! I have had this pain condition for about 1 month! Is rest the best treatment ?

This happened to me at the height of 2020 pandemic. As a medical person, I knew what it was NOT, but not what it WAS. Three years later, the discomfort at bedtime, especially, is horrid, likely due to nerve scar tissue or compression. So many times I've thought about compartment syndrome but although the minor symptoms are present, I knew it wasn't compartment syndrome. Anyone have ideas how to fix the nerve symptoms of impossible-to-ignore gnawing or "worms" and fasciculations???. Two ultrasounds were negative for DVT in 2021; I knew that going in. No MRI was ordered even at my request. Can anyone suggest a procedure, a treatment, therapy....witchcraft even, to stop the discomfort at night???
