What about the tear? What rehab to do in that? Does that hurt while walking?
@stevejalfano556 ай бұрын
Can these issues become chronic? I had an acute injury in May 2023, and I’ve been working my way back since, and I’ve have 5-6 set backs. I can avoid injury by one significant activity per week, but any more than that and it feels as though I’ll reinjure it. I’m not sure this is the issue I’m dealing with, but it aligns with the majority of symptoms (I’ve seen 5-6 orthopedic surgeons and physical therapist and have yet to receive any official diagnosis for my issue). My fear is that this is chronic at this point. I’d that a possibility with this injury?

Could this be the tendon that seems 1/4” across and has a mild to painful pop everytime I do a heel slide since having a total knee replacement/arthroplasty 9 weeks ago every time I do heel slide & bending or straightening exercises with my knee. It feels like it’s pulling right in the middle of the back of my knee. I’m not sure if it’s the popliteus tendon as that one is at an angle behind the knee, going from lateral to medial side. I can’t find good images of how the hamstring or calf tendons attach to see what angle they’re at. This plantaris tendon seems like the likely culprit since it looks to run basically straight down from the back of the knee, which is the painful pulling sensation I feel when it’s about to “pop” and when it does “pop”. I’ve tried massaging the area, putting magnesium lotion on it, and seems I should ice it much more, besides the top of my knee.

How long does it generally take for a small plantaris tear to repair? It is accompanied by a small tear in the gastrocnemius. As a result of a netball injury.

Hi, it depends on the grading of the tear.

Wow up to 20% of the population just doesn't have this muscle?! So curious! I have a question - can you feel pain at the back of the knee if your plantaris is inflammed?
