I already did this experiment many years back prior to this video. Some of the leaves that I planted lasted for more than two months before it rotted, but still there were no signs of growth - roots or pups. Aloe Vera can only plant and propagate Aloe Vera using its pups. You maybe can propagate Aloe Vera using its leaves in a laboratory though tissue culture.

Nature is funny. I threw some Aloe leaves into a patch of garden flowers after plucking them from a suffering plant. When I weeded out my beds, I found one of these Aloe leaves had rooted itself. I potted this leaf by making sure the roots were only resting on top of my potting mix, trying not to bury any part of the leaf, then added leca to prop it up. Three weeks later and it seems to be doing good!

I get the same result with snake plant leaves, even when I let them dry out before putting them in soil. Idk why most of them rot, even when I barely water them. And the ones that do survive are clearly underwatered bc the leaves start to wrinkle. My soil mixture's fine, btw. 50% sand in it. And the leaves are from different sub-species and plants! Not like anything wrong with the leaves either ;/

Before replanting an Aloe plant with rot, the infected tissue must be removed to prevent it from continuing to rot. But this won't help on the case of a naked leaf, as it cannot grow a plant because it has NO meristem tissue from the stem attached.

Aloe vera isn't work with the leaf.
@Emsev1002 жыл бұрын
@@alwoobin5699 It does work. It’s not easy in colder climates though. 🤔 It’s easier with sprouts. What people tend to do is adding too much water and using only gardening soil which will probably kill the plant/leaf. 🤔 Try mixing the soil with sand. Aloe loves sand. Don’t use sea- or beachsand though. Since it contains too much salt. It might still not work if you live in a colder climate with less sun but it helps. 👍🏻
