Gorgeous!! My struggle is planting up my pots without feeding the deer. They never seem to get the "ornamental" memo on the cabbage and chard! And they love pansies!!

So lucky that you have a great garden center where they can give you the best plants for the season. The garden centers here in PA have nothing but mums and pansies. It's a regional thing as to what's available, I think.

In Australia we called Swiss Chard 'Silverbeet' ... I use to hate eating it when I was little but as an adult I love it steamed with a bit of garlic :)

You could put some eye balls in the Carex planter for Halloween. Use a toilet paper tube and creepy cut eyes out and then stick a glow stick in it and at night it will have glowing eyes. lol!

Saute a medium yellow onion, when clear in color, add one pound of lean ground beef, chard leaves from about 20 stems, one cup of cran raisins , one cup of cooked yellow corn, and stir fry and serve with wild rice.😊

I love viola's! I planted tons of viola's and alyssum 2 years ago in a flower bed in front of my house ( under front windows) and even though they say they are annuals (I'm zone 5), almost all of them came back this spring! and they seem to be spreading

Nice way to dress up that area! I too am not a fan of the scent of marigolds or geraniums either. I love the look and have used them in my vegetable beds but not really near my house, when I lived in a house. I'm in an apartment now and do miss having flower beds that I can create for myself. Don’t be afraid to pull your plants apart at the end of the season. They come apart pretty easy....it’s also a great time to divide them and make more plants. Most annuals can be overwintered. I am in zone 9 and I bring my citronella plant in the garage, water it every 2-3 weeks bring it out in the spring after last frost. I also bring in all my fuschias, but I wrap those with brown paper bags, but I water those the same as my citronella plants....they are part of the Geranium family, so I also have my geraniums next to the citronella’s.
