Beautiful home, I love the fact that you left the wood in it's natural stained color. Our first home was a Tudor built in 1940 and we took every step that even though we did renovations we stayed true to the style and when we sold it, the new owners (a young couple such as you and Aaron with a little boy of about 2) painted all the wooden frames, staircase, fireplace mantel, etc., white.... A house takes years to complete, take your time as your picks will last a lifetime! I think these styles of homes look lovely in any season, but Christmas is one where the house really glows! Beautiful job, guys!

I busted Lol'ing when you said "some of them have really creepy eyes". It just reminded me of an ornament that my husband's grandparents gave to him. They picked it up while in Germany and it's not the cheery sort of santa ornament one would expect. My son would make me put it on the back of the tree every year.

Laura, I live in a mobile home on three acres in central Florida. The living room was very beige and I was okay with it until you showed me Thunder Grey. I am now sitting in my Thunder grey living room trimmed in ultra white. It is just beautiful. I am 72 so it took three days but it's done. Enjoying every video!

Beautiful! It looks like you've added more art and furniture since last year. I can see lots of Rachel Ruysch, Caravaggio, Jan Breughel the Elder, Van Dyck, and other such artists gracing your walls. Benjamin's things lying around just show that a real family lives in this house; no need to apologize for the trappings of children. But, enjoy having your trees decorated all the way to the bottom limbs. Next year, you might need to leave the lowest ones bare. By the time my son was three, we were devising ways to suspend from the ceiling anything valuable or harmful. I can still remember the alarm of realizing he'd been quiet for more than a few minutes. I have to chuckle so many times at the endearing comments you make! I also start chomping at the bit, so to speak, to get outside and plant something during the doldrums of winter. I'm fine through Christmas but January and February are the worst! The other thing was that you move things like crazy out in the yard but you don't move your furniture much. Same with me but I think its because we find the perfect, most comfortable furniture placement, WE like where it's placed, so why move it? I love your farmhouse! You do such a fantastic job of capturing that quintessential Norman Rockwell feeling for the holidays. I don’t know how you get so much decorating done! It’s always been more than enough for me to do my decor, which is nowhere near the effort you put in. You‘ve got a good eye for decor, as it looks beautiful, appropriate in scale & uncluttered. I a dog & 3 Russells, however only 1 fur baby is a chronic pain 😁. I put stuffed animal ornaments along the bottom branches for the pets, so they stick to playing w/those & leave the rest of the tree alone. It’s the bows on my presents I can’t keep intact! I’m glad that you are keeping the natural woodwork, when we moved into our house almost 50 years ago we discovered that under all the white enamel paint we have oak wooodwork, needless to say that January I started stripping all the paint and some 3 years later the entire first floor was done, so beautiful, never regretted our decision. There’s some comfort to have things the same year after year. I used to put 2 trees up, one was a 9’, but now only one 5’, it’s a slim version, like sky pencil holly...I wanted a break from lugging the big trees in, artificial, and all the put away, we have so many birthdays nov through January, it can feel like too much....but i do LOVE Christmas and decorating for it.

Benjamin barrier....bahahahaha...My parents actually put the christmas tree (we only had one as our their house is small) in the playpen when we were young and to keep us from getting into trouble. I had to giggle when you showed the picture. With my gran kids living with me when they were 0-2 ish was the ornaments started where they couldn't reach. One year i did just the white tree with the multicolored lights and it had a pretty glow. Kept us sane and the kids from getting into mischief

Your house is beautiful. So festive. Thank you for the tour. I say let Benjamin touch some ornaments. Put some of the shatterproof ones or other non-breakable ones down at his level. I taught my boys "touch soft" when they were that age. I would show them how to gently touch some things. Eventually all I had to do was say "touch soft" and they would. I also filled one lower kitchen cabinet with tupperware and some pots and pans. That was their cabinet. They could pull everything out if they wanted. No problem for me!

Laura and Aaron, On your way to mackinaw Island MI., you should stop in frankenmuth to visit Bronner's Christmas wonderland retail store that's open year round in frankenmuth, MI. Its known as the "world's largest Christmas store". The building is 7.35 acres in size with landscaped grounds covering 27 acres. We spend a whole day, they have more themes and specialty ornaments and decorations that you could ever dream of. I know you can find them on line if you'd like some more information. I know it's late to post, but I've only recently found your channel and have fallen in love with it, and doing some binge watching lol, while keeping up to date.
