I keep saying I just wanna be outside and doing things and somehow in my mind I feel like I can’t because it’s cold. Watching your videos is motivating me to just throw on some warm layers and get out there and do a few projects. It will definitely make me alot happier to be working the garden space and getting a head start on springs projects!

Agastache Apache Sunset is an amazing plant. The blooms are trumpet shape in sunset colors, naturally. It is always full of pollinators and humming birds. It has constant blooms until killing frost. The leaves are thin with a gray/blue/green color. When you brush against it, it smells like ROOTBEER! Good for tea. I've had several years of success in my yard. I'm growing more for the church flower garden with seeds I got from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.

Minnesota is also getting temps in the mid 40's to 50, and plants that should be staying dormant is awakening already with green growth. The air even smells like SPRING here! The trouble with perennials breaking dormancy far too early in zone 4 is that temps won't stay consistently mild until May and a cold snap will kill off the new growth. The average high for Minnesota right now is 25 F. Interesting days we garden in, that's for sure!

I just did some flowerbed clean out after we got into the low 20’s in south Mississippi (which is wildly cold for us). It was so satisfying! That cold got my impatients. Happy they lasted so long into January though!

Anise Hyssop is a great plant in so many ways! I have had it in my front bed for close to 20 years from one purchased plant. It is so hardy here in 7a and reseeds readily, a bit too readily sometimes. It grows 4 to 5 feet tall in my front flower bed. I often cut it back to be able to see out the front porch! The marvelous part is the gold finches love it not to mention the bees and butterflies. It provides summer, fall and winter interest in the garden. I let them stand for the winter and the gold finches always visit and enjoy the treat. I am envious of your roses. Mine seem to lose most their leaves in the winter, I am not sure why. They leaf back out in the spring. I am excited to see your gardens mature and to experience all the inspiration you bring to each and every video. Simply marvelous.

Good morning Laura and family and 🐈🐈‍⬛ You make me want to run outside to look for something to do, waiting for my arborist to come trim my pecan tree some time this week, if I had the heart I would have him cut it to the ground its been struggling, the squirrels don't give me a chance to pick pecans. Cleaning flower beds make my day so pretty afterwards, and knowing that SPRING is on its way. Have a great rest of the day. 🙂👋
