Loved the "Napoleon Dynamite" clip in this video! I've been watching your channel since almost the beginning and have loved seeing the transformation to your garden, home, growing family, Aaron sharing more on camera and the amazing quality of your videos. It's been pure joy! And did I mention I now garden regularly? Something I never did prior to your videos. This year I even started growing plants from seed; something I've never done! Thank you Laura & Aaron for the inspiration & joy you give to all of us!

Agree, 100% improvement on the barn facade! Indeed especially seeing the original. As a designer the offsets would continuously bug me every day! Also red is outstanding color incorporated there. Great Door & lighting selections & details too. Your previous vids/ comments on long-term alternatives, renovations plans for your home too peak my interest. This along as always your planting selections, process & wealth of great info from your actual experiences. Wish there was a garden center like your parents near by! Landscaping the new property exciting and thoughts of water feature as pond, etc good elements to consider especially possibly "bridging" over it alongside curved entry drive. Had similar on new residence I designed on a sloping lake front property. Cheers!

The planters are beautiful. I LOVE the color red but I don’t use it in my garden at all, I wonder why. 💚🙃Because I’m old, and been there done that, I could watch you work, create all day. It’s wonderful that you are able to get what you need to create new things. I too love to create newness in my garden but I’m always running out of something and it’s not in the budget at the time I need it. Oh well! I guess that’s why I love watching you so much, you get it done ! 💚🙃As always Benjamin is a little charmer, his innocence is so refreshing, he’s a little doll !💚🙃 I love the look of the mulch, I don’t have to imagine anymore what that area will look like, so clean and tidy.💚🙃 I think Aaron is getting use to being on camera more which is really nice, his little quips sometimes cracks me up. I think I can throw this rock to the mountains, and so many others, I can’t remember them all, but at the time they give me a chuckle or two. Always remember, God has Blessed you with a lovely family, a good marriage, the ability to create and the resources to create.💚🙃 I can’t wait, if I’m still around, to see your babies grow and them learning from you and helping you with your homestead💚🙃 Christ is coming, what a glorious day that will be, I just hope He lets me help you garden when we get there. I’m so looking forward to that, and most importantly His presence ❤️💚🙃

Hi Laura, Aaron and Benjamin! Those red ranunculus with the shades of blue/purple pansies is so pretty. They look really good in front of the barn. I have a wood shed that I plant two pots with red geraniums and dark green creeping jenny on either side of the door on plant stands. I love the red against the wood. In fact when I got the shed (a gift from my husband), I pictured it with red geraniums in front, and my daughter surprised me with a gift of them already potted up. The only other red I use is in a small red, white and blue container I've planted every year since 9/11. I use an everblooming red begonia, blue lobelia and white alyssum, or bacopa. It's fun to do. Otherwise I prefer purples, pinks, yellows, whites and California poppies. I like the black mulch, too. Thank you so much for sharing!

Hey guys:) I have a question about the mulch. Will you be walking in this area? I’ve only ever used mulch IN my gardens, not as a pathway. Will it be messy? Your sketch states that there will be grass and a possible pond in this area.. Thanks for all the vlogs 💚

I’m not big on red flowers either, with one exception, red geraniums. My mom always planted red geraniums on her little front porch. Ever Since she passed away I’ve grown more and more fond of them. I usually tuck a few in pots every year in remembrance of her. Your red flowers look pretty. I think you’ll enjoy them until you don’t. Lol. I’m looking forward to seeing what you plant in their place this summer.

This is probably way too late to be commenting on this video but I have to mention the shutters on the barn- if you would have the guy that works for you that is sooo talented make you plain shutters that are functioning and wide enough to actually close and held back with shutter dogs I think you would be amazed at what a difference it would make. I study you videos every day and they inspire me to get out in the humidity that is the south!

It's impressive that you can wear your Vans while working in the soil! I would have shoes full of mulch!

I almost always planted red flowers and now I'm going more pinks and salmon colors. Haha! That red looks great in those planters and with the white on the barn!

A couple years ago you went to a flower show on Mackinac island and they had that color palette planted in front! I remember thinking how beautiful the pops of red were with the purples, blues and whites. Red is not my favorite in the garden either, but when done well it’s just gorgeous.
