Jim has made such a big impact. These collab. videos are so enjoyable and interesting. I too discovered Janey through an earlier Jim video. Please keep the visits to other creators up! They are great.

Hi Jim. Yes I watched Janey too. I didn’t know she moved as well. I’ve discovered several KZbin garden channels I followed over the years had relocated due to space. I truly appreciate what Janey said. The fun part about gardening is nothing is set in stone. Things can always be moved. I rearranged multiple plants this fall in my garden which I’m truly happy with. I’ll be doing more this Spring. TY for this nice meet up ❤

Thanks for this, Jim! You and Janey are two of only a handful of gardeners whose KZbin videos I watch without fail. I am in North Central Texas, so I am in a different zone and climate than both of you, but I still pick up a lot every time. I appreciate the gifts you bring to the world for our learning and enjoyment.

This is so fun to watch. Nice collaboration between Jim and Janey. I have a suggestion for Janey and her well understood need to get it all done yesterday. Graphing out your garden on paper really helps. Figuring out where the hardscape and large trees etc will be placed. Draw it out. It will keep the garden cohesive and cost you less in planting and removing plants. Graphing it out is really fun for your brain and imagination too. Much easier to change plans on paper. Thank you.

I love watching Janey and I totally agree that being aware of regional differences is a key. I am trying to pick plants that are suited to NC coastal conditions. I love roses so I am picking roses that are fine living in sandy soils. Blanket flowers grow in the sand dunes as a weed so they are getting planted in my yard.

I love both of your channels and to hear you Jim say you're collaborating with Janey as she has a good outlook is a compliment. I'm in the UK but on a SW coast elevated position, with clay soil (our village literally had a colliery and brick works).I don't have a standard cottage garden. I can't even have hanging baskets as they get thrown against walls. The 'not a race' mindset is definitely a good way of thinking about gardens and changing even minor areas. Best wishes to you both, from a very wet Wales, UK.

I had wondered Janie what was underneath all the mulch. I understand the frustration with all the different materials used. I had a landscaper that used plastic, then another whom I asked to remove the plastic, well they didn't now some of my garden beds have a layer of plastic, mulch, landscape fabric and more mulch. I could scream, since I am not physically or financially able to get it redone correctly. I feel like a taken advantage of elderly widow. Jim you have always given such good information.

Jim I have a question about deer damage. In one night the deer rubbed their antlers on several small trees ripping limbs from the trunk. The corkscrew willow and sweet bay are the most damaged. What should I do. The bark is scuffed off more than 18 inches on a 3 inch trunk. I’ve enjoyed your travel videos.

Since she’s starting from scrap, she should take the time to contour the landscape and make a little watershed and capture water so it doesn’t just runoff.
