Sure is fun watching the 140 my favorite small farm tractor go through the field.

Great video. My Dad had/used a similar spreader to spread seeds and fertilizer in the 1960s/70s. Old technology is the backup you can count on.

Lots of good seat time. Looks like you should get a good crop out of that. In our country would probably run the packer over as a final job. Take care back that way. Prayers for everyone affected by all the storms. Blessings to all in your family. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Thanks Jack. No roller because I want it as loose as possible for next year.

Thanks for sharing the video Joey. Looking nice. You are going to like the harrow for what you are doing. Yes sir those cyclone spreaders are good little tools. We wore out one like that and I now have one I got from Southern States. God Bless Y'all and I am praying continually for all those effected by the storm.

Amen Nelson. I look forward to you coming.

My dad used to use a spreader here called a fiddle drill. Where you moved the stick backwards and forwards like a fiddle to spread the seed. Looks like it did a great job. Thanks for the video. All the best 🇬🇧.

That’s neat. Might have to google that.

Hey Joey, good video! I like those old bag spreaders. If you see a zipper on the top you can put more seed in it without dropping it on the ground. Keep up the good work!

Might have to get Kayle to sew me one on.

I was told that Gypson (what sheet rock is made of) is good for clay ground. I have bought bags of it at farm supply.

Haven’t heard that before.

I still use a Cyclone seeder my father in law had in the 1980s. Had to patch and reinforce a few places with gorilla tape over the past years. The canvas bag is like me, getting older and more fragile.

I really like that seeder.

Are you still planning on planting the plow day field on plow day? Makes me wonder if anyone else would bring a disk too 🤔

I think me and Sam are going to do it the next week.

You have a good week? I don’t know about that blue sign you have in your garage. You remember North Carolina

I think that may be called elbon rye.

Soil improvement Rye. Nitrogen for corn Crimson Clover. Look into it. I could be wrong.
@robclinton92492 ай бұрын
Yes! To winter Rye. No! To annual Rye. If you terminate it correctly you'll gain much soil enrichment from the deeply tilled & plentiful roots. Could do Crimson clover, nitrogen fixing legume that is easy to know when to terminate. Enjoy the flowers for a couple days then mow, strictly speaking about the clover.

Right! Rye grass & Winter Rye are completely different animals. I warned you last year and you said oops! Other folks just joining, this is an important point. Annual Rye vs. Winter Rye = Lawn vs Cover crop.
