A long gap I know. But its been rather hard getting this garden done for an old pensioner (violins please) anyway number 8 is here...probably not as well edited as I would like but they will be more frequent but shorter in the coming weeks.

Astonishing what you’ve pulled-off in under a year fella!! Orange pyjamas bottoms in the pond though?!!…not sure if I’ll be able to unremember that Malcolm. Yes, the scene from Dr No, as well as From here to Eternity, La Dolce Vita, and not forgetting the Bo Derek moment back in the 80’s all spring to mind. You certainly put your own twist on it…🤪. Anyway, as always thanks for taking the time to do this!!

Well worth the wait - what an incredible transformation. Now in the throes of garden improvements, the work done by my son, I can't grow the same plants, don't want a pond, but your imaginative planting gives me hope. I have clematis, some gorgeous verbenas, lavenders and more; lots of blue and purple in July. Thank you Malcolm.

Hi Malcolm, your a good bloke and my wife loves your weekly/ monthly updates… don’t stop…. Even if it’s a quick update…… and if you do get messages from people who say they are offended…. Then just tell them there’s an off button….., normal hardworking blokes are hard to find these days…. Well done, keep up the good work 👍

Thankyou for sharing, the garden is a credit to you, in little under 12 months, planting looking beautiful, the orange Prim up against your back fence look brilliant. Incredible transformation of the pond, beautifully finished off with the stone work & water blade. You were very brave in the pond, you just need a sailing boat to finish it off.

Well what a treat ! Malcom I was well and truly impressed with the garden .😊I must say I thought last time it looked a bit like a wood yard but now it’s all covered it looks beautiful .what hard work that pond must have took but that waterfall looks brilliant . Here’s a laugh for you ,my garden beds are a bit high and full of plants ,I ware bifocals so if I look down it’s a bit out of focus anyway I was looking for something to hold onto to get down and fell .I thought this is going to hurt when my head hits the stones anyway it didn’t ,I just heard myself say Oooo err and thinking of you as you got out of the pond I have to get on my knees to get up but I couldn’t find a place to put my knees cos I didn’t want to squash any plants and my head was facing downhill I thought I was there for the night ,anyway I’m still here with one tiny bruise and one tiny scratch (I’m a tough old bird ) this gardening larks dangerous stuff 🤣🤣 Amanda that poem made me laugh and so true . Lovely to visit Egglestone again C U SOON

Everything looks so lush and beautiful. Over here in NH, we're in a drought - most of my plants are 'crispy' - the trees leaves are curling up. So sad. The one thing that is thriving is ground elder - ugh my nemesis. I have one of those Japanese hand sickles - my absolute favorite tool for weeding.

You, Malcolm, beeing the reincarnation of Anita Ekberg in the Ponte di Trevi, in this not so pondworthy (and leaky) orange "matter" made me laugh so hard, that I slowly slipped down the sofa, unable to take a much needed breath. Hubby had a hard time pulling me up (now he is laughing out loud).Your garden looks spectacular, it must have been a pyhsical challenge to get it all done by yourself. I asked hubby for a pond last year - now I changed my mind. Thanks for uploading, it´s always a pleasure to follow your gardenstory. Best wishes, Hanni (who will watch the end a second time in a minute).

But blimey a deluge of work but lovely sitting out at night with a beer and all that perfume. Roma is great for canning or passata Malcom. Had a year's store..how's the lottie? Can't imagine you've done much on that this year. EH looking fab.. give us an update at some point on Clara and Thomarse. ..

That were champion, that were i am saying this as a man that was in good health till 59 but now 67 and still potter about in the garden be it plant pots my water feature is a pump in a plant pot but would love yours. Hats off to you sir 🥂🍾you should have said you like beer i would have bought a tray over old peculiar's ale, strong stuff. We could have had a natter. Funny Thomas did not pop over to help the man that made him come good. I bet he was with a friend and that sweet little girl on day release from college playing Bill and Ben behind the potting shed. Mind you the place is looking grand since he took over ? give my best to all !! Happy days .

Talking to farmers who use gylphosate, it binds tightly to the soil, rarely goes to water if it is not wet at the time. If it is applied during dry weather this chemical binds tightly within 24hrs and it is residual for about 6 months max if bacterial activity is low. It is broken down by bacteria. Can plant after a few days normally. Foliar spray is minimal impact. These farmers use it like a soil brench! It is everywhere in the UK anyway :0/

Can't stand Larkin, typical 'Apollo' language quite unnecessary 'appealing to the masses'. It's using shock words for effect, (not as used by our dear friend in the potting shed and spoken so delicately by yourself!)) and now the use has become far too prevalent. But thank you.
