A question about Crocosmia. Does it bloom the year it is planted/transplanted, or are they like peonies that take a couple years to bloom after being moved?

Hiya, just watched this video again and enjoyed it, we moved to France last year from the UK and now have lots of land which we are turning into gardens my question is how many Crocosmia variates do you have , and could I purchase some of each they don't have to be potted the corms / bare roots would be fine and easier to transport back to France. I could collect them or I can have them posted to a UK address when ready thanks Derek from France

Its a wonderful undiscovered part of the country around here....the ‘roof of england’ drive between Barnard Castle and Alston is one of the finest, and very little traffic. Teesdale is sort of squeezed out by its more popular neighbours, The Yorkshire Dales one way and the Lake Distrect the other...not to mention Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors......we also have High Force and Cauldron Snout....two other waterfalls or cascades......I will put them into another video sometime soon Stephen. Best wishes....Malcolm

Great video I've never tried growing Crocosmia I think I will give it a go. I was wondering if one day maybe you could give a lesson on how to propagate conifers I have been having a time with those.

I just left a comment on the last video asking when the next video will be......Here's my answer. Great timing! Thanks Malcolm.

Plantsmans Corner The content is all that matters at end of the day and that's always brilliant. Your videos have been very helpful. As per your advice on the "So you want to be a gardener" video, I'm looking into getting a little lawn/hedge trimming business going so that maybe eventually I could have a small nursery going on my little patch of land on the east coast of Ireand. I've not got much so I've not much to lose..... Thanks for the advice Malcom. Keep the videos coming, they're always entertaining and full of great info. Best wishes, Bryan (with a Y).

The ladies are all really good Griselda. Each have their own talents and strong points, i’m very fond of them all.....not in a pervy way i should add........but what I like most is their willingness to get stuck into anything I ask of them even when its outside their comfort zone....thank you for your kind comments. As ever....Malcolm

My sister is a gardener in Yorkshire. I wonder if you may have crossed paths. Tis a small world after all. She is much older than me and we have a major personality clash...so I'm not sure what gardens she works for.

We have the Echinacea tennesseensis wild here, and it's tough as shoe leather! Hot,cold, drought...it is amazing!(mostly 🙄) It did chase out a few other Echinacea varieties I purchased last year, lol
@plantsmanscorner1286 жыл бұрын
Ive grown it here Tara.....and another species called ‘paradoxa’......I find its too much wet that does for them in this climate.....well, pretty much all echinaceas really. I believe they might be considered a prairie plant in parts of the US......I love the whole family really....best wishes...Malcolm

I will be sure to pass that on Grace. We need more females doing horticulture in the media, rather than just being added as dressing. All my girls are worth their weight in silver....I would say gold but that’s pushing it a bit 👨🏼🌾😂......best wishes....Malcolm
