I wouldn’t call it useless Pete. Most guys starting out know nothing about this, so it’s all useful.

FYI for everyone the AG60 has three different sizes available one is a .03(around .8mm) and the other is a .45 or something but I believe its a 1.1 or close to it and you can find a 1.3mm so three different sizes for the ag60 but you have to be careful because alot of sellers don't know the nozzle size .

Cheers Pete, I enjoy learning here. The longer tips I find much better for cutting along a straight edge guide, I have modified a $20 Bunnings rafter square, great but too thick for short tips.

Hey Pete. Great video. I just bought myself a cheap cut 50 plasma cutter for hobby use. When I bought the unit, I also bought the extra tips that were shown with it. When they came, the tips didn't fit. HUMMMM. So I am doing some research and I found your video. I thought I should order cut 50 tips, but they don't come that way. Your video taught me a lot. So I subscribed to the channel and maybe I'll learn some more from a good ole Canadian boy like myself. ( Ontario).🍁👍👍

@@petestools They were not even close to the right diameter. The tips were the double-ended type and mine take the screw-in type. The ceramic end was too small. I don't know why they showed them along with my cutter. They took them back, but it is just a big bother. I guess that is where the saying came from ( a picture is worth a thousand words) LOL

My unit came with a P80 torch and my first electrode lasted me about a day... The orifice is now 2-3 times larger than it started out as and the inner electrode has actual swirl patterns engraved it it at this point... Just doing some test cuts in sheet metal and a piece of 5/8" rebar... Probably less than 24" of cutting total... I think I need to work on my technique a bit... :(

Here in the states, a person can buy an Everlast hatchet 60 or Primeweld 60 for reasonable, but get an (Italian made I believe) ITP60 torch. You can get 1.1, 1.0, 0.9 in a variety of styles (standard, long reach isolated drag tips, whatever).

all due respect please do more research on the tips before making comments on the depth and air pressures needed to cut ,eg a 1.1 mm can cut from 1mm to about 6mm a 1.3 mm can cut from 6mm to 10 mm and a1.5 can cut 10mm to 18mm and 1.7 10 to 25 mm depending on your generator also you will not pierce 40mm with a 1.1mm tip etc etc etc you can cut 55mm with a 1.7 and 1.8 mm tip
