Continued: cut 50 Hf works great, this one has a new main board ( Nov 2019 ) circuitry is differential than older models there isn’t a bank of exposed IGBTs on each side. Many main board components are covered by the large heat sinks. Found I need extended torch tip kits in order to use circle cutter kit.

@@petestools Thanks Pete, I didn't know that and I appreciate the clarity! I hope your wife joins us because plasma cutting is the coolest. I tell my students it's like cutting with lightning

Pete: thanks for all the great info on your videos. I bought the cheapest cut 50 Hf on EBay. A few hiccups with air leaks, including bad 8mm to 1/8 NPT push to release fittings

Hey Pete, another great and informative video. Just one question, with Pilot Arc Torches do you still need to drill a hole 1st if you need to cut a piece away from an edge or can you get away with it?? Cheers Pete

just hold your torch on an angle so you don't get direct blowback
@melgross4 жыл бұрын
Or use a piercing tip. I assume they’re available for these machines. A gauging tip would also work. Just hold the torch at an angle to avoid blowback.
@petestools4 жыл бұрын
nope you can't buy piercing or gauging tips for theses super cheap torches
@melgross4 жыл бұрын
@@petestools That's a shame. try holding the torch at about a 45 degree angle. It won't work for 6mm up, but it works on 3mm.

It concerns me you are doing this without protective gloves on.
