I have the PANASONIC TH37PX80E and in all SCART (AV1,AV2,AV3) i have no video signal I see all option of the TV in the screen and I have noise sound from the scart cable. I have not check the HDMI ports yet . It could be the main board in the Video input section? What you think that I have to look? Any special part to measure or change? LG 42PA4500. I have no cable, no dvd player hooked up. Was watching tv and picture went black. Sound is fine. Just no picture. It's been sitting in my living room for a couple months because I don't want to throw away something that can obviously be repaired, but I don't know how to do it. I bought it about 4 years ago. I took the back off and dusted things off, and everything looks pretty good. I don't see any obvious defects. No blown out or swollen capacitors. Nothing obvious. I am not a tv repair person. I know a little about alot of things, but I don't have alot of fancy tools and I can't afford any fancy tools. I wonder if there might be an easy way for me to diagnose and repair this tv? Hi. I have an old plasma 60 inch tv with brand of Atner which I bought at Vegas CES show I believe is a copycat of LG. When turned on. it starts with flickering "no signal" sign in middle of sceen. It can be solved by hair dryer blowing into the middle circuit board then by a light click sound and the "no signal" sceen become solid and swtich itself into input singal and everything will be fine. I checked the board. didn't see any bulge capacitors there. So could you please figure out which part is most likely have the problem and how to fix it? You help in this respect will be much appreciated.

Hello I have a 2013 Samsung PN64F8500 plasma TV that has no video but does have audio. I have tried the various HDMI inputs and verified the issue is not caused from other components within the system. Issue started a few months ago and got progressively worse until last week when I no longer get the panel to power up.I power on the set and it just goes through boot process with no power to the display. The problem sounds very similar to other plasma TV's but have not seen the fix for this relatively new model. Samsung support is worthless and TV is out of warranty. I have removed the back cover and performed a visual inspection looking for blown fuses and bulging capacitors. Did not notice anything wrong with visual. Hoping you can provide your expert opinion on the matter. Thank you in advance.

I have an older Sony Plasma KE-32TS2U (sn:2017034) that has never had any issues until recently. The set powers on, has sound, but no picture. This began as an intermittent issue and after powering on/off a couple times the picture would appear. However, the set now remains without picture at ALL times. We have replaced the set with another to confirm that it has nothing to do with receiver or other components. I am curious what you think is most likely the problem. While I don't have the ability to test them, ALL capacitors appear to be in good shape. I know this set is old but I am having a hard time tossing it. I have read about the Y-SUS or X-SUS boards (or both) being a possible cause for this scenario. I was about to order a used Y-SUS until I saw your video about the Main board. Suggestions on where to start first?

I have a Samsung 50" Plasma (model #PN50A510P3F) The TV powers on and both my cable box and xbox 360 through HDMI connections display green, magenta, or blue, while clicking on and off until the picture corrects. This took a few minutes at first, but now takes a lot of time. Sometimes if I just turn off the APC surge protector and battery back up off and reset everything I can get the picture to correct. Everything I have read suggest it is the power supply board and the caps should be bulging. I don't see anything like this. I am torn between whether this is the power supply board or the main board. Hello I have a Samsung 3/D plasma model # PN51E550D1F it was working perfect then I turned it off. Now it won't turn back on, I do have a standby light blinking, I tool the back off and I don't see any leaking or poofed caps. The only thing that looks like it got very hot on the power board is 2 black flat round things with ( DSC 2.5D-15 ru152) on them and the board looks darker in color around these,and there is only 2 of them on the power board,no other board has them. Hello, I've got a Sony KDL-52S5100. I just bought a used Wii and found that the image through the composite cables is black and white, distorted a bit, and quite dim. I got component cables and found the same result on both component inputs into the TV (yes, I did select the HD output in the Wii settings). I hooked it up to another Sony I have and the image works perfectly, but this is not my living room TV and is way, way smaller. My HDMI image works well, which leads me to believe the issue is in the main board section of the TV. Hoping a simple main board replacement is the likely fix here, but wasn't sure if there was another component I wasn't considering. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Hello, Samsung plasma PN60F5300AFXZA sound but no picture. As soon as the power cord is plugged in, the standby light flashes 3 times, then slowly 9 times, then 4 times, then stays off. I can hear sound from a dvd player but the screen is pitch black. Pushing the power button does nothing, but the volume still works. The tv stays on unless the cord is unplugged. The green led on the main board flashes once about every 4 seconds. Upon testing the power supply and main board, I get the low voltage pins to test ok but I'm not getting any high voltage at the sustain boards. I've already tried a different power supply but I get the same issue. Not sure if I should start throwing more boards at it or if there's more testing that can single out the issue. Also, I've tried disconnecting everything from the main board and power supply but no changes. Since the power button doesn't seem to work, should I start with a main board? Also, I didn't noticed any burned spots or bad caps.

I have a Magnavox 50MF231D/37 Plasma TV, I replaced two bad capacitors. The TV turns on but will not power on the screen or sound. I Checked all pica fuses and all Voltages on TV and all boards are on and ready to recive signal. Hi, thanks for your informative videos. I have a panasonic TH50PX70EA, a european model but similar to british and american models. i bought it in 2007. The picture died one evening recently with a quiet hiss. It still has power and the audio from the tuned channel but the screen shows a dark glow only. The two greens leds on the y and x sus boards are lit. I have changed the logic and y sus boards for pulled boards bought on ebay but still no picture. Not sure if the screen showed horizontal darker bands at the top and bottom of the screen before I changed the logic board but it does now. The screen glow and dark bands are only visible in a darkened room in any case. Would much appreciate your help in diagnosing the problem. Thanks, Brian

Brian trotter Since you replaced the Y board, the buffers also need to be replaced in the TV. The original logic board can go back in the TV as it is most likely still good. I have a 42 inch samsung plasma Model PN42A450 that is 6 years old with sound but no picture. No menu or guide working either, no popping sound. Screen stays black when turned on, does not look grey in dark room. All capacitors look good. All fuses are good. Heat syncs on X-main and power board are warm. 2 heat syncs on Y-buffer are warm and one is not. All small heat syncs on Y-buffer are cool.I have looked at the logic board and there are 2 green lights, one comes on and goes out when the tv is turned on, the other blinks continuously about once per second. At first I was thinking it was the Y buffer board but I was told the blinking light would be much slower denoting a problem board. Any thoughts?

Hello, I just got a Westinghouse LTV 32w3 HD from a friend. He broke the antenna connector (coax) off of the back. I tried to connect a DVD player up to it through the RCA jacks but it shows no signal message. If I put the TV input to air it shows snow. Could this be the main board? I tested the dvd player on another tv and it works fine. Thanks

I have a Pioneer Plasma TV model PDP-504PU. When I power it on, within 3 seconds I hear a snap sound from the back and it goes completely black. This is usually before a picture has been displayed although sometimes part of a picture can momentarily be seen. How do I fix this? Thanks, Chris

I am having trouble with the main board, were every time I would connect my TV to my cable box (HDMI port) it would turn off within a few minutes. I did the research and watch your videos. There is no problem with the power supply board. I order the part (Main board 310431361734) and made the new installation. It turns out that my TV does not project the image but only the audio. Hello, So about a week ago my 60" Samsung, model # PN60F5300AFXZA made a loud pop sound and the screen went blank but the sound was still working. I turned it off and back on and another loud pop sound happened and I now have no picture or sound. I went ahead and bought a new Y sustain board as well as the Y buffer boards to see if that was the issue... Still nothing. Interesting enough is, when I turn it on with just the lower Y buffer board connected, the screen will flash a few times. Same if I only have the upper Y buffer board connected without the lower... But when I have them both connected, once again nothing. Any ideas? Thank you for your time! -Josh

LG Plasma 60Pz550.Started with a green horizontal line on top half of screen.Now when turned on screen backlight flickers and then stays on with a 1" long blue line in top left corner with no picture .I was able to pull up the volume on screen dail in the opposite bottom right corner but will get a ghost image of it on top half and the lower 4inches of screen.Stays on for a few minutes and then shuts off.

I'm having a problem with my Samsung PN42C450B1D. The video went out all at once. I have sound and can power the unit on with no trouble. I can not get the tv menu to display. I have tried connecting to all video inputs with the same results, no video. When this happened my cat was walking on the tv stand and knocked over one of the exterior speakers I have. The speaker fell over and may have came in contact with the HDMI cable that was plugged into the HDMI 1 slot. I could see no visible damage to the cable or the input itself, but the video went out at that time. After watching your video I pulled the back cover off and looked at the main board. I removed the main board and there was some whitish colored crusty stuff on a portion of the underside. TIA for any thoughts. William

William Cummings I recommend checking the screen for cracks. If there are cracks on your screen, then your TV is ruined. hp pl5072N 50" plasma - came home found tv on - don't remember turning it on, no lighting or power surges that I can tell. Next morning tv says starts testing then : "no problem found. please power of the tv and check the video source and connections". No buttons work, no remote. unplug, replug, no difference. hold power button on, plug in while holding power for 30 sec, unplug, replug same. Took back cover off thinking I will find a rest button, but did not get that lucky.

Hello there, my name is David and I have a problem with my Samsung plasma TV model PN51E530A3FXZC. When I turn it on in the morning it comes on then will turn off a few minutes later. It may come on again within a few minutes or so or I have to unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in and it may come on. I will have to do this a few more times but I noticed that when it warms up it seems to work fine. Once it stays on for a while it works ok but I have to leave it on all day or repeat the process all over again. Any ideas?

I have a Vizio VP50HDTV10A that seems to have a bad DTV input. All the other inputs work perfectly, but if the input is set to DTV the set will sometimes come on, sometimes shows a 'no signal' message. I can switch to any other input and it comes right on. After it's on awhile I can switch back to DTV input and sometimes it comes on, sometimes not. Do you think it could be the video box panel assembly and tuner?
