awesome build! I had fit issues with my Revell 1966 Fleetside pickup truck as well- really pretty in the end, IF you can get around some of the nagging issues, like the locator pins for the bed, and the non existant mounting holes for the side view mirrors. Your painting and attention to detail are top notch! keep up the great work!

Thanks for the all the comments regarding the build, I have just received this kit as a Christmas present and it will be my first ever model build. I'm sure its going to take me a HUGE amount of time but I want to have as best finish that I am capable of doing. Your car looks great and I agree, I wont be using any of the decals, I'm not a fan of those.

I inherited this kit from my son and finished the build. I put on the cheesy decal because it was the 2nd or third kit I built and didn't know any better ( like what you did with the underside )

Strictly stock ! Looks so much better than the add on customs that most kits offers ! Bed looks great with that blue paint as well . I never use any decals .

I just finished this kit prior to watching your video and had the same problems with the cab fit. Guess it’s just an issue they never addressed .

Hi evreybody, i'm on this model right now, before paint I test every piece and have to make adjustments to fit some parts. As advice always do that!

What year did Revell put this model out?
@Kryptosmaster3 жыл бұрын
Best I can tell is 1999 for the first release and 2011 for this one I built.

How did you do the black in your grill ? Looks Great !
@Kryptosmaster8 жыл бұрын
Pretty simple wash. I used gloss black acrylic paint from Walmart. Watered it down a little and painted/gravity dropped it into the recesses. Went over it a few times to make sure all the recesses were covered and then just gently buff off the raised portions after its dry.

Great tip. Thanks. That looks so much better than solid chrome.

How did you do the bed colour and metal parts? Dying to do a truck this way!
@Kryptosmaster5 жыл бұрын
Bed color? I assume you mean the floor? Just your typical bottle of testors wood color paint. Not sure what you mean by metal parts? The chrome trim? On that one I believe I used plain old testors bottled silver but I now try to use the Molotow chrome paint pens.

Excellent job! A piece or two of chrome chain would have added a nice touch to the tailgate. I had more fun in the 1960s building model car kits than I deserved. What a fun and relaxing hobby it is.

Nice job! How did you get the detail on the hubcaps?
@Kryptosmaster8 жыл бұрын
tony wolton It came with decals but I didn't want to use them. I used bottles of acrylic paint and wiped the excess off so it stayed in the embossed details.

nice work - paints? Brands? etc.
@Kryptosmaster5 жыл бұрын
Honestly I don’t recall which ones I used on that one but I’m starting to incorporate that info in the videos. My next video will show all the paints used.
