For the lack of detail this kit has, you sure made it look very nice! I never cared for these older kits that have just chrome lights without clear lenses. All in all, great job!

You did a splendid job on this car! 👍👍👍1948 Lincoln Continental is one of my all time favorite cars.

Thank you. It was pain in the posterior though. 😆

It’s just a re issue of an old Pyro kit. Better than not having a 1948 Lincoln at all. The Monogram kit of the earlier model is a better kit but of the earlier version of the Continental. I think you did a good job on it.

thank you i started this 10 years ago its still in the box i think i might get to it and build it as a 60s teenrod .custom now

I am building the same Lindberg 1948 Lincoln Continental kit now and have to guess how some parts connect to others like the piece with the hood vent between the hood and the windshield/top of the dash.. This kit may become a prime candidate for being videoed as I blow it up with hidden well-placed firecrackers that will look awesome played back in slow motion. We'll see if it comes out good or needs blowing up. I built the Lindberg 1953 Ford and it is one of the best car models I have ever built.

Those wheels are a trip!
@markwaters18007 жыл бұрын
The reason is that it's a reissue of a very early 1/25 scale model kit from circa 1955. The car was originally a Pyro plastics model. The original issues don't have any chrome at all, and even have different wheels made of the same plastic as the rest of the car--which you have to paint. But the wheels are more realistic, like the spare. Somewhere along the way, they got these phony toy like wheels. Anyway...I agree, Lindberg needs to retool the wheels and headlights. Maybe someone will re tool the whole kit?

I have the original. It has a female driver figure with a HUGE... well, I leave out the rest.

Another silk purse from a sow's ear! Lindberg is such a crapshoot! I built the motorized T bucket hot rod in the '60's and it was AWESOME! Then, in later years, my second one made me say "Never again!". Then the next one was a gem! Don't bother with the Cord... It's crappy, unless, like the Lincoln, you're a glutton for punishment! More patience than I'll ever have! Great job!

paul lomych Too late. I already did the horrendous Cord. See my video.

@@Kryptosmaster I was lucky and warned of the Lindbergh Cord, found a nice Monogram.

Crap shoot is pretty accurate. No problem, and fun building one of their police crown vics, but the police charger!...what a pain. Had the fisheye paint crazing on the hood. Stripped it, sanded, re-primered, and re-painted and it still crazed!
@paredding2 жыл бұрын
I just finished the Pyro Cord and that was a challenge BUT these are old kits and are not expensive. This Lincoln is a blessing after that with all the chrome parts and if you are a decent modeller, can make a nice job of it from 3 feet. For sure Revell and Monogram are far better but they came later. Its all relative and it would be helpful if you didnt wave the parts and instructions around when filming so we can see how things are clearly eg the ways the wheels are assembles and what we would have to do to paint them.

This is an early video so hopefully I’ve made improvements in the area you pointed out? I’ll try to keep it in mind, if not.

A bear to build, suggest building the Monogram version, a MUCH better kit with a one piece body.
@Kryptosmaster7 жыл бұрын
Phil Benza I’ve seen that one and I’m sure it is a much better kit. I think it’s 1/24 scale though. I prefer to stick with 1/25. That’s why I usually avoid monogram kits. Plus, I’m not that interested in building the same car again this soon. I won’t condemn all Lindberg kits over this one, though. I also have a 53 (or 54) Ford kit and although I haven’t started it yet; it looks just as nice as a Revell kit in the box.

Thanks for the video. I'm struggling though this build right now. I've built mostly older Monogram kits of classic cars such as Duesenbergs, Packards and Rolls Royce and this is by far the worst kit I've ever seen. If this was the first kit I ever tried I would have quit and never went back to modeling. I have one more Lindberg looking at me, a '37 Cord and have no idea what fresh hell awaits. Ha.

I know exactly how you feel. There are some astounding Lindberg kits though. This is just a bad one. I think I built that Cord too. Scroll through the videos.

Agreed, this is the worst model kit to put together/I've ever owned. I took the front fenders off (because they don't line up) and made it a rat rod sorta. The hood isn't flush either. My vent windows also are floating. Love the black with red guts and a tan rag-top you chose. I love the engine tho

Back when, Lindbergh got such a horrible reputation including my own thoughts on them being extremely detail-less. As a matter of fact when they started coming out with new tools like that 53 Ford, and a few others people were so down on them that it was hard to get people to believe and buy those other kits. Even today!
@Kryptosmaster Жыл бұрын
Well, the funny thing is (as far as I know) Lindberg isn’t even a real company anymore. Just a brand that Round2 or someone owns so technically there’s no reason to even use the name anymore if the reputation is bad enough to impede sales.

I guess it could be worse. The early fifties Pyro version lacked clear windows and chrome parts. On the down side the tires, two part plastic units on the first issue, were replaced by tiny undersized vinal tires. Some things don't improve with time.
@jonathanneale27077 жыл бұрын
I recently bought this one factory sealed and alot of the parts are cheesy and there is close to no detailing all the way around the car . The glued parts panels are janky and need work filling in the open spaces between the glued panels . The tires and rims suck and need to be thrown away . Over all the model was a BIG let down for a seasoned builder like me and you . It will be irriataing to the beginer builder . Plus a little too much chrome plating . Lindberg needs to go back and re-tool the molds to add more detail and a better tire and rim set .
