You did a really nice job on that kit. I fought tooth and nail on min, and finally had to give up with the decals. They ALL disintegrated for each one I tried, and finally jus threw them out. It does come with a manifold for the passenger side for duals, but it's another aggravation. Anyway, great job! Love the color choice, too.

Wish they made a model of the four-door. That was our family car - dark green over light green - from 1953 to 1960. Our Crown Vic didn't have an outside spare wheel & cover, though. Spare was in the trunk.

I didn't use the spots on mine either I put them on a peterbilt I did. This is a nice kit

Happened to me mate. If you tried to do your second coat too early.Makers recommend 48 hours between coats. I re coated mine when It was too green and it reacted like spraying acrylic on to enamel, Waited 48 hrs. And it re coated fine. Was pissed off ,my fault. Cheers

I think the issues you had with decals may have been due to age of kit. I've seen this car released by another brand more recently that decals were no issue. Personally, I would have spent more time making sure the wheels roll. I've seen this kit built with wheels that roll. But overall, this build turned out really good. Separate side chrome moldings is a nice bonus, adds to realism.

It’s a possibility on the decals. I don’t recall having a problem with the wheels. I’d have to rewatch the video. If they don’t roll, it’s not the end of the world but obviously I prefer them to roll.

Spot on with the Lindberg line, Richard! Quality was very good in the early '60's, but in later times, it seemed they only took their meds occasionally! Would buy a couple of bombs, swear"Never again!", and the next one would be a gem! Beautiful build! Just asking, though... The box shows chrome grill bars, you said body color. Was I looking at the wrong part? Keep the great videos coming!

very nice build, love the final look. this kit looks like the AMT, Coca-Cola 53' CV. but you get a coke machine, other than that every tree matches. Here is a few ideas I learned along the way that may help, use mod podge gloss to hold in your windows, and chrome trim on, you won't get the mess you get from superglue (even superglue vapors can mess up windows and chrome shine) after you put your part with mod podge on just wipe off excess with a "Q" TIP. on your decals use Tamiya markfit, follow directions, let dry, then seal, then try your tester glue for the glass look. the decals are a little different from AMT Kit. hope this helps some.

I have an amt 53 convertible as well. I haven’t opened it yet. It’s not a Coca Cola version. I’ve been wondering if it’s the same basic molds as the Lindberg. I’ve put it off because I didn’t want to build basically the same model again so soon.

I just finished my AMT '53 Ccrown Vic- beautiful, beautiful kit- everything went together just like a dream. Some of the directions were a bit wonky, but eh. I was really impressed with how many parts were in this kit, and how detailed it was for it's size- great value as far as the amount of plastic in the box goes!

This appears to be the AMT kit packaged under the Lindberg name. In my area in the 60's I bought 3 or 4 Lindberg kits. Every one was junk so I started staying with AMT or Monogram.

Normally I’d agree with you but this was a nice Kit. I also have a 61 Chevy Lindberg kit that looks to be nice. It’s in my queue. I also have the amt kit (a convertible though) coming up so we will see how similar it actually is. I’ve been wondering.

How do you remove seam lines on cars? Tools sandpaper grades ect

Practice. I use xacto knives, 1000-2000 grit sandpaper, emery boards, etc.

Did you have a problem with front end,(separate wheel wells, firewall, radiator shroud).I did could not get the front end fit totally flush.

I’m helping my 75 yr father with his model hobby now that he’s had a stroke. He is OBSESSED with his model’s having moving wheels. He’s even been purchasing built models off eBay since it’s so hard for him to build them from scratch these days, and if those wheels are glued on he takes them apart to replace the suspension and wheels to make them move. All that said he’s building a LINDBERG 1953 Ford Convertible Pace Car with the exact same wheels as this kit. I am really struggling with how to attach these wheels without the glue getting on the wheel retainer. Dad has been redoing other 53 Ford’s using 49 Mercury AMT kits for the suspension and wheels but I would rather not waste an entire Mercury kit just to steal the necessary parts. Does anyone who’s built one have any suggestions as to how they got the wheels on properly so they move?

Sorry, it’s been so long since I built this I can’t remember how it’s constructed. Try using a toothpick with very little glue and don’t get it on the parts that are supposed to move.

@@Kryptosmaster thank you for this suggestion. I have built the Pacecar twice now due to serious alignment issues with the engine compartment on the first attempt. I think you are onto something using very little glue, I tried to put a plastic spacer in between the parts to 'catch' any glue and hopefully keep it from getting on the actual part that needs to move. I have to admit that this 'hobby' of my fathers feels more like a very challenging job to me sometimes :)

So what was the cause of the paint wrinkle on the roof and what did you do to fix it?

Lindberg's kits had huge variances in quality some tools like the Dodge L700, Dodge A100 "Little Red Wagon" Were actually a different company's tooling & molds purchased by them to issue under Lindberg name The IMC tookings were good... The 70s Lindberg's weren't very good as whole kit for Box Stock build. Certain parts were pretty good others were terrible. So Lindberg's were sort of plan on kit bash m parts box robbing to make a good looking model
