Nice video. Swords aren't really that heavy, however swinging them is exhausting. Letting a larger sword rest on your shoulder before swinging it is a good idea.

It's just nice that they've given it a sense of weight. The pose makes it look like there is effort involved in what he's doing.

Definitely my favourite of the three minions in the set.

Not the biggest fan of Ysarold’s pose but I understand it was with the intention of him commanding in the heat of a battle. The ax just seems awkwardly turned on him. But to each his own. Still a very lovely set overall by Modiphius.

It's the weakest miniature in the set. I don't mind the axe, but I think the pose shows their limitations with creating plastic miniatures. I feel like he's supposed to be pointing, but maybe they couldn't do an individual finger. And the thick fabric on the front and the underfill is just ugly.

These miniatures look like they should come in a box of 40 for the price they charge.

They are certainly edging into pricey territory. Not sure what they're charging in the US, but the UK pricing is £25 for the box in plastic, or £30 in resin. I realise there's an IP to cover, but it still seems a lot. I can see the resin dragon they have planned breaking the bank. I think these miniatures would be a real project for you: Lots of visible lines and gaps to fill. I know how exact you like to be dealing with that stuff. For me, they're at the top end of my tolerance for that sort of stuff. I like miniatures that are a little less labour intensive to get to the table.

The price is rather atrocious, honestly. The detail is far too soft and the gaps are far too large. They almost look like bootleg recasts. Plus the swords are awfully thick and the weird thickness on the cloaks and the tabard/loincloth are just bizarre. I can't see any reason that plastic needs that thickness in a model. It's almost like the CAD didn't remove supports that were there for a 3D printed sample. Maybe I'm a bit harsh, but when you can get a box of Victrix Dark Ages figures with far more detail, and customization, for about that price, somethings wrong, license or not. What's odd is that these new minis are far less detailed than even the PVC Fallout minis. I just finished the Slaneesh daemonettes and the were a pain to do. The arms and the damn banner were terrible to get into a good position. Old kits from 2009 and you can really see where GW has improved.

I do feel there are gaps in their knowledge when it comes to hard plastic miniatures. The way the pieces are cut up, and the very obvious joins, are evidence of that. The worst though is Yrsarald's cloak. Having a separate piece that still has all that underfill is bizarre, and the thick piece of fabric on the front of the model is ugly. I wouldn't be surprised if they ditch the plastic and go 100% resin if the product line continues for any length of time. I think when they're all painted they'll look pretty good for the most part, but there's a lot of work involved in them and I can think of better ways to spend my limited hobby time. On the plus side, they will all look really nice as a grungy Rangers warband and they will see plenty of use in D&D.

That's true, but at this point, there are better and more affordable minis that you can buy in the future for Rangers. Otherworld, for example, though they are not as cheap as D&D plastics. The quality is superb though, especially for heroes and special monsters. You've mentioned that Elder Scrolls should have been an ideal way to get new people into minis gaming, but it almost seems that with the rough over-wrought rules, the really random quality of the minis between this box and the crazy cut ups in the other box, and then resin thrown in, Modipheus is accomplishing the exact opposite, driving someone away from minis forever.

@@johnmiddleton4291 Oh definitely. It's more a case of, I've bought these guys so I better get some use out of them somehow. I said back when I preordered that if it turned out I could only use them for Rangers and D&D they would be some of the most expensive miniatures I use for those games! Most of the time, I'm quite happy with stuff like Deep Cuts. The quality isn't the same, but they paint up well enough, and you get a could range of sculpts and races at a reasonable price. The D&D adventure games, Dungeon Saga and the like have also been a gold mine, obviously.

Awful. The only model that looks any good is the archer and even that one has the hand position of knocking an arrow but they didn't bother to sculpt one on the bow. Come on. The great swords look like they got the scaling wrong. They are all way to large and the blades are comically thick. The cloak on the last model you showed was the final nail. That is just amateur level stuff. This is a miniature skirmish game. The models should be of the highest quality possible. I got board game minis from years ago that look way better than these.

I like Ralof, and I'm actually pleased they didn't sculpt the arrow, because they would have sculpted it really thick and chunky and it would have looked bad. I like the two swordsmen with helms as well; I don't have a problem with the swords. Yrsarald though... it's pretty unforgivable to sculpt a multi-piece miniature with underfill like that. Considering they charge £25 for a box of five miniatures, they need to do better than this. The problem at the moment is the fiddly construction, poorly laid out rules, high cost, and crunchy gameplay is going to keep non-miniatures gamers away, while the sub-standard miniatures are going to keep the miniatures gamers away. That doesn't leave much space for the game to do well. I'm not planning on going any further with it.

@@alcovitch yeah I didn’t enjoy this one at all. I’ve posted a couple of videos talking about my frustrations with the game, including a playthrough. The faults are many. I am sure it will find an audience but I’m not sure that audience will be large enough to sustain it.

Overpriced garbo. Same as the fallout minis Just absurdly Overpriced purely for brand name. Makes GW look like a cheap company.

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring I spent about £500 on the fallout minis then sold it all at a loss The quality is okay. Its just absurdly Overpriced for what it really is. Modiphius are a great Company, I just hate brand name affecting price. Its almost as bad as GW pricing based upon the models price point. But I get why GW do that. A single sculpt for one model has a very high cost to actually mould and produce. They need to sell enough of it to cover it. Just sick of companies thinking they can charge stupid amounts and the crowd follows it and doesn't say anything. Almost as bad as Infinity models costing an arm and a leg.
