I heard one dermatologist on KZbin say forget about the wrinkles. Strive to get an even skin tone. Try to eliminate hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, and other skin discolorations. We’re all going to get wrinkles and many of us don’t have $50,000 to undergo plastic surgery.

I’m not an expert, but I agree! I work at a restaurant and from what I’ve seen, it’s not the wrinkles but the skin TONE that makes someone look better than their age! At least that’s what I’ve noticed over the years…

That is what my dermatologist and plastic surgeon both said. The plastic surgeon told me to stand 5 ft from the mirror to look at myself, not up close like we all do while we are putting on makeup because 5 ft away is how others see you. When you look up close you obsess over every small thing that look huge up close.

Smart concern about fillers and lymphatics. people are injecting fillers everywhere now, so now it is an increased rise in problems. also people using filler on jaw or near lymphatic areas like neck, center and high axillary regions of breast. I would like to know what the DR thinks about women getting fat injected into breasts instead of implants. This is such a terribly bad idea and yet people have been doing this for 10+ years. As a mammographer I highy recommend leaving fat injections ( and if possible implants) out of your breasts.
@jennoryan6838
@jennoryan6838 2 ай бұрын
I get what you’re saying regarding mammograms, but fat transfer is a great option and there are other imaging options for those after fat transfer. For women that have cancer, deformities, or other issues, this is still a great option

Dr. Truesdale is the most relatable surgeon I've met, and he has incredible bedside manner. In just 4 weeks from now, Truesdale is working on my face, deep plane- neck/face & brow lift, fat transfer, CO2 peel, lips, the works. I'm definitely nervous, but I know he's going to perform a miracle on me. I trust him completely.

@@thehonestchannel Thank you, I, too hope it's a success! Well you may see my results because I'm actually going to be on Dr Truesdale's show. I don't know which episode it will be, but my surgery is Aug 22nd, so the episode may possibly be up... I'd say... approximately a month or so after my surgery (?), when swelling has gone down, and I'm healed, for the most part. So keep an eye out for the fair skinned woman with dark hair, and a long neck (which he'll be fixing). I'll be the one talking about how I lost a good amount of weight in a rather shot period of time by trail running up Griffith Park, and how it really did a number on my face, hence why I'm getting the work done. Hope you watch the show!

Very good interview. good questions. Thanks a million Claire. Was a photographer and many friends faces have distorted with filler, that I wouldn't be interested to photograph them. I had one energy treatment Ulthera I think it was, it melted fat. Never again. I don't even use retinol anymore it thinned my skin using it longterm, and made wrinkles stand out. Glycolic acid works better, facial massage and red light therapy. I use ZIIP but still sceptical about it's effectiveness, maybe temporarily. Only natural ways for me now, I'm not game to risk anything. Seawater is a great environment for the skin, that's my future plan!

Absolutely great interview! The scares caused by radiesse was an eye opening too. - Does NIRA laser count as "energy treatment"? - Would it be possible to know more about technique that Dr. Truesdale is using so that we know what to look for when choosing a plastic surgeon (for those who will decide to take this step but can afford only local surgeons)? Basically to educate ourselves using the best examples. He mentioned that he is combining different treatments (ie: fat transfer) with the facelift. But there are different techniques for fat transfers and face lifts too. - I love your white blouse that you are wearing at the end of this video. It suits you very well - very fresh and young look. Could you please share name of the brand? - Your videos are helping me so much to age as well as I can.

@@CarolFA1111If you zoom out, you will find that despair leads to drugs, which leads to homelessness. What is causing so much despair is fifty years of GOP policies that have opened the door to Wall Street taking over corporate America, which has led to globalization and massive income inequality. The middle class is hollowed out. The poor have fallen through the cracks to despair. The GOP trickle down economics only trickled up. We are no longer building homes, except for the wealthy, because that is the profit center. So these are the elites trying to lay the blame on the political party that fights for the average citizen. Not perfectly, that is for sure, but the GOP undercuts citizens at every juncture, from wages, to healthcare, to no taxes for the rich, to no childcare or paid maternity leave. I could go on.

I actually avoid a lot of energy treatments for exactly this reason, but I was confused as to whether these treatments inflict damage under the skin and that's just inherently bad, or these treatments inflict damage under the skin and that makes it harder to get a facelift later on. I'm not sure any of us "want" damage regardless, but some might not care if it produces results and they have no intention of getting a facelift.
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel 2 ай бұрын
It’s a good question. He was definitely making the point that it makes skin harder to work with in plastic surgery, but also said it’s what delivers the tightening result for those treatments. Hard to know if there is a further downside without clinical trials. What I do find interesting/concerning is that when these energy treatments are being promoted they talk about skin tightening and collagen production but they don’t make clear that it will create lasting scar tissue.

Hi. Another great video, so informative. And I've followed Dr Truesdale for a while. I just wish you could have addressed more on "what to do" if you used things that have damaging affects. Like Ultherapy. I already knew that my crepe neck skin was due to the 3 Ultherapy treatments I've had done. But unfortunately didn't find out till yrs ltr that it melted my fat in my neck, leaving it loose ( I've always been 112 my whole life since high school...not fat ever). But besides a neck lift I guess there's not a lot of help. I'm even afraid of other heating devices, like rf frequency or even red light therapy because even though it's "supposed to" injure thereby stimulating collagen, it too can potentially melt fat and skin cells. We just don't know for sure until it's sometimes too late down the road. Also, I wish he would have addressed what to do if lymph nodes are blocked from fat transfer (had that done too in cheeks, worse mistake evvveerr) or too much fillers. I guess just lymphatic drainage face massage? And, i've known for a long time that retinols are not actually good for your skin. That's why you see young skin and it looks almost translucent and glows but older skin on retinol makes it look flat, not vibrant...almost like burn victim skin.
@thehonestchannel

Thanks so much for watching and I'm really sorry to hear about your difficult experience. I took a look on the channel recently about what can realistically help loose skin around the neck. Not sure if you spotted it so I'll link it here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/infJm5l3gJaGfJYsi=vNCzuSYtRKY0wjMG Plastic surgeons would usually recommend a neck lift if there is significant laxity there. You can have HA filler dissolved if an area is overfilled. For fat transfer overfilling he mentioned liposuction but only by a skilled surgeon.

He is very nice. I do think he isn't going to strongly recommend alternative treatments when he thinks everyone should get " a lift" at some point. I am 53. The biggest jump in anti-aging I got was from filler I got at age 51, some in my cheeks and some in my jowl area. Initially I was over plumped looking but it settled down within 6 months and it took years off my appearance. Haven't gotten any more since then. Also I used botox for years- just recently took a year off but will probably get some baby botox again soon here.

Same here. I used fillers on my cheeks at 46, I’m 49, it might be still there. I’m Asian so it’s hard to tell. I had my lips filled, after I had a lip lift, I don’t need to fill my lips anymore. I used .3 ml on my under eyes a month ago. and marionette lines 4 years ago. Will never do my jaw because I have a face shape like Zoey Kravitz, I actually used botox on my masseter muscles for I grind my teeth. It’s like a square but very shape because my chin is a shaped. I had a PET LIFT in Miami, pull your face up, should last 3 years. And I’ve done threads which I hate because they don’t last. Now, I only do botox on forehead, crows feet and under eyes.

I don't know the answer yet, so I always ask doctors for their opinion. I think personally, a good compromise for long-term use is just to use it two to three times a week which is what I do. She looks her age (not a problem!) and is overall slender but her facial thinness makes facial fat loss a question. Plus I kept waiting for it to zap me if I lingered too long in one spot or didn’t have enough gel in one area. The potential for it making my face muscles contract was too much like a TENS unit. I used it for a while in the beginning but never see any results other than a temporary flushing. It wasn’t worth the unknowns for me.

It's curious that he spent part of his residency in Ghana and then became a plastic surgeon in one of the most exclusive zip codes in the US. Ghanaians don't spend their lives past a certain age, if they even reach it, being obsessed with looking young forever. That speaks volumes about the so-called modern world to me and our priorities. I hope to not fall into this hamster wheel so many other women my age are on, but societal pressure is a constant.
