about time somebody actually shows something other than tile and ridiculously expensive shower setups I put a 5 piece around a shower bathtub setup in kids' upstairs bathroom and somebody recommended putting spray foam in the spaces of corner shelves and letting it harden before putting it up it stiffened up the shelves and made them more sturdy

,I have watched many of your videos and I am very happy and proud with the results. I am 72 and have had to do everything myself after my husband had a stroke in 2015. In 2017 our son passed away from MS and we have the house. After his daughter moved, I have been renovating it. I decided to add a shower to the upstairs bathroom and the instructions that came with the MAAX tub SUCK! They should pay you and include a video with everything you demonstrate. Without you I would be lost. I can't afford to hire someone but I can afford the interest free payments from Home Depot. I got the first hinge on with no problem BUT the 2nd came with a warped rubber piece and the part that's inserted into the little groove won't stay put. I get one end in and the other pops out. I considered trimming it but was afraid that it would not seal. As I type I am soaking it in hot water and then I will try gently stretching it. I thought of stretching it with 2 sets of pliers and had a vision of it ripping apart! Any suggestions? I don't know if you monitor this so I will have a chocolate bar and then see if you replied - obviously you are smart and don't publish a phone number in case silly old ladies ask dumb questions. Fingers crossed that you will see this soon. It's about 3:30 on January 10th 2024.

I remember the first time I installed a similar shower wall board and I used liquid nails because it was extremely cheaper than the recommended adhesive and everything was great until it dried and you could see every place I put the liquid nails on the wall board very expensive lesson to learn lol, great video ,love all of your content,GOD BLESS

Hi Jeff, thanks for your videos, they are helping me a lot. I put this current situation I’m in in the category “sometimes you choose your projects, sometimes they choose you.” Sorry this is long, I needed to fill in background before the question makes sense: I was LVP’ing my bathroom floor and upon removing the trim realized the shower curb leaked, set out to fix that, and found that the cement board and plain drywall had been set down on top of the pan inside the waterproofing layer. So then the whole shower needed replacing to stop the green and black behind the tile. The back wall of the shower is 48”, and each wall is 44.” I’ve removed all the gross old stuff and am wanting to install an acrylic shower to the studs. I already bought a redi-tile base 48” x 44”. If only finding shower panel systems was as easy as the redi-tile base: The only option I can find that will fit where you can cut down the pieces to the weird size I have without losing interlock-ability of the corners is “Flexstone” from Menards. The 60” adaptable set includes trim pieces in the same print. I have looked high and low and think a Flexstone system is my only option. Utile Max has individual panels you can buy but they don’t seem to sell trim pieces and I don’t want to be stuck with raw edges facing out. Is there another brand you know of? Do I need to add back Hardy Board to attach the panels to or can I glue it to the studs? If I’ve made any wrong assumptions let me know, b/c idk what idk. Thanks so much!

Installed the same shower enclosure two years ago. I purchased two similar plastic panels for the interior at Home Depot..they do carry them. I decided I wanted to increase the height of those panels supplied as I felt they were not sufficient. So my point is if you do make a mistake in cutting the panel you can get a similar panel,the only difference is it has a pebbled affect. The smooth side I placed against the wallboard.

Some tips on those mounting screws for the glass that keep breaking: #1 throw them out and go get some US screws. They won't break as easily #2 tighten the screw by hand using a screw driver or ratchet. The vibration from drill/drivers shatter the cheap china steel #3 use a little oil on the screw to help with the threading #4 to ensure a perfect thread, use a tap. You will likely need a bottom tap to get all the threads

I used the Lepage PL700 kit as described in the video and just letting people know that the beige colour shows through the panel once on the wall. There's lots of comments on the internet about this product showing through the back panels. Wish I had done the research first instead of taking the recommendation from this video. Now I'm out a panel and have to sand and repair the drywall before I can put up an new one. For anyone interested, it's about 65 bucks and a week to get a new one delivered from maax.

When you use a holesaw predriill the mandrill and put masking tape where the holesaw will cut. Run the holesaw in reverse until it cuts in especially if doing fiberglass to get through gel coat so you don't chip it. Then put it in forward. Forster bits for small holes but use making tape

Mark and drill hole with the smallest holesaw size first. You can then tell how far off you may or may not be on measuring , before using the larger size.

I love your “how to” videos.. I’m doing a DIY finish out on a room downstairs which we left unfinished when we built five years ago. I was considering this shower kit until I read some of the reviews on the Hone Depot website. There are many negative comments about it being very flimsy and cheap. Your video seems to indicate it being fairly substantial and functional. What’s your honest opinion on it?

I followed your videos step by step and installed this exact shower (as best I could). 6 months in, and the wall panel is coming off, starting at the bottom where it overlaps the pan. Do you have any tips on how to re-adhere the panels or do I just re-caulk where they meet and hope it doesn't worsen? Thanks Jeff!

regarding stripping screws, I bet the instructions state they are meant to be installed with a manual screwdriver... Did you use an impact driver? Because that invalidates the warranty on the screws too...

Wouldn’t it be a great idea to install a primary water proofing gasket at the faucet hole prior to installing the vanity plate 52:37 ? Those vanity plate coves have a minimalistic water shedding foam bead that will last “x” years….

my side panels started coming out from the metal bar, it seamed they were only pressure tighten with the rubber stripe inside the metal. I'm looking for a better and more firm enclosure system now. maybe something with more frame.

I recommend you fill the screw holes with silicon as water will find its way behind the wall channels and into the lowest holes then into the wall. Sheetrock hates water.

not in your case. rigid surrounds many times get screwed to the framing and then trimmed out in drywall. Cheers!

Hey. I hope you are someone knowledgeable will see this question. It's about acrylic to acrylic adhesives, or at least I think it is. My shower has the acrylic sheet walls with a soap tray glued into it. The tray just fell out and I am wondering what adhesive I use to secure it back in before I caulk around it. Not sure what to use!

I can't help but notice that, around 34 minutes (when you were installing the glass walls), you didn't pat the walls twice and declare, "Well that's not going anywhere..." Seriously though, I'm still roughing in the electrical in my basement, but I'll be doing the shower down there soon. So videos like this will REALLY help. (And yes, I *WILL* be joining when I'm ready to start the plumbing so I can ask questions.)

It seems that Homedepot in US does not sell PL 700, only Canada HD does. Any idea why?

I am not finding Loctite PL700 or 2 in 1 at any of my local stores. I live in a major US city. I see PL400 and 500 but not 700 I do see Loctite Power Grab Tub Surround. Is this a comparable product? Is there another product that is comparable to the 2 in 1?
