Your respirator information is absolutely wrong. A P100 cartridge is designed to filter out physical particles, not chemical vapors. you want a cartridge designed to filter out organic vapors. 3M's website, as well as many other places online have selection guides. That will direct you to the cartridge suitable for what you are doing. Yes there is smoke during plastic welding, and a P100 will filter out the smoke particles, but the chemical vapors will go right through it.

Can the plastic welder be used on even tanks that can be glued? How does one figure out what type of tank(s) they have?

Great how-to video! One question though, how do you tell what material your black tank or grey tank or water tank are made of? Would the same welding rods work on a black tank as it would on a fresh water tank? Is it a regulated industry standard that all fresh water tanks are made with one material while all black-water tank is made with another, and yet the grey another? Keep these vids coming!
