The Rv industry can learn from the car making industry on how they set up their gas tanks. Auto makers would not want a gas tank moving around so they put a strap around the tank. And the Rv makers should think the same when it comes to the gray and black tanks on rv's. But this is a great idea. I would have patent this my brother and sold it to the rv companies. They learn a lot from just common folk like ourselves and make billions off our ideals. Great guy for sharing this with other Rvers that's going through similar problems. Thank you again.

After getting a quote $1700 + to replace black tank. I disconnected my tank, hot water flushed in my downstairs shower then let dry. I heat welded with a wood burning craft tool then used West system epoxy with fibreglass cloth & 100% sealed it 🇨🇦👍 ps; retired plumber . 72+ 🍁 Manitoba hunter expat 🍁 great vid fella

Good job and it looks like a solid repair. Hopefully you'll never have to deal with this again. It's a sad state of affairs when the consumer has to spend his/her time and money to retrofit these RVs just to get them to the way they should have been built in the first place. For the money they want for these, they should be bullet proof from the factory instead of being full of design and construction flaws.

Much appreciated Gary. I thought long and hard about how to solve this, and I think we got it! It is frustrating that the folks in the factory just don't seem to care about quality, only appearance.

Looks like a great fix. I used 4 ratchet straps to hold my 52 gal fresh water tank up into place to the frame on both sides. My model of camper has a history of the fresh water tank falling out because of insufficient tank braces. I boon-dock a lot so I need to carry a full tank of water. The 4 -10’long 1”wide ratchet straps worked great and was a quick install.

I am curious how well the ABS compound repair has held up after 3 years?

Thank you for this video. Trying to run down a leak I have and it’s a brand new 2023 Keystone Sprinter. Not even had it four months. 😂🤦🏻♂️

Thanks for sharing all that. Agreed, it's ridiculous how poor some of the engineering and manufacture of these RVs. I have the same arrangement on my Montana 5th wheel as you - two side-by-side 48gal tanks. My grey split at one of the indents on the bottom because of lack of support. The manufacturer had put two "C" channels across the whole bottom of the unit, but they were mounted on their backs and the flange was too short, so they both sagged, allowing the tanks to sag as well. After crack repair, I am going to put two small I-beams with 2-3" webs across the whole bottom. And, like you, never drive with liquid in the tanks again.

Great idea I’m shocked at the construction of these trailers. It’s pretty crazy when you start actually having problems and seeing how these manufacturers construct various mechanical systems, wiring, framing etc. it’s unacceptable craftsmanship to be honest for what some of these trailers cost. High end finishes for such a small space isn’t expensive. I wish there was a brand that actually did things right.

Actually, I think there is one. Check out Van Leigh 5th wheels. They are made by the company that makes Tiffin motor homes. They are designed built and warrantied for full time living. It’s what I would buy next time.
