I am a product designer. This is a great update. I would like to see the dimensional and parametric features enhanced like NX, Solidworks, and Fusion. The flexibility of modeling is much better than Rhino 3D. If only the dimensional and parametric features were enhanced, there would be no reason to use Rhino.

So happy to see snap to object. This will make editing STD files so much easier. Thank you for continuing to improve this powerful software! I did find a couple bugs though. When in boolean mode, after difference selecting multiple tool objects, the whole boolean-ed object disappears. If I shift click anywhere on screen, the object on occasion will reappear. Often it didn't and I had to restart the program to see this. Another bug I encountered is almost the opposite and happens when hiding multiple objects in a row. Often one object will not be hidden and when I select the object, it remains selected but is not identified / highlighted in the object registry (on left). The object interacts with other objects and can be snapped to. The only way to make it go away is to delete the object but none of the objects in the registry are affected. So this is a puzzling bug. BUT... compared to what the program can do, these are extremely minor issues.

Super cool, I really need to put more time into this software. The snap to import mesh looks really interesting for bringing in 3d scanned objects and modelling over them easily.

Use the move command (g) and it’ll underline the measurement letting you click and edit it!

@@KoganeNoYubi since it's measuring between 2 points, you need to tell it which of those points/sides you actually want to move, and which should stay stationary, so it makes sense that you have to select the surface and not merely the measurement.

Dear developers, if you add the Freeform tool (as in fusion 360 t-splines freform), then this program will cover all 100% of my needs! I recently bought the Studio version on sale and am very satisfied so far) And I would also like to be able to control the position of the auxiliary plane. So that you can create it in the center of coordinates and then move it where you need to and make a sketch there. Now I have to create some kind of object, for example, a plane and already bind the construction plane to it.

They've had a Measure function in it for a while now, but this update (shown at 0:19) means you can now specify the distance between items by changing the measure function itself, as long as you have the geometry to be moved highlighted, as they show. Edit: btw for any newcomers, a quick selection tip is that Ctrl+Shift+Plus_key (+) will grow the selection, meaning to select the faces at 0:19 you can just select the top one, then hit Ctrl+Shift+Plus to get the sides too. Then you'd change the measure distance amount, and that'd make it move accordingly, as they showed.

@@overseastom I have extended the maintenance but I am definitely not happy with it, because this does not motivate me at all. Because this is not the only thing I pay for. This way you keep paying. People who bought Plasicity later already have an advantage that the program has more features. Then I might consider switching to Rhino. Because that program is already much further developed compared to Plasicity.

If you bought the software initially, the terms of what you'd get included with the updates for the year were completely clear, so there's not even an argument to be made, let alone 2-sides to it. Do you go on movie trailer sites and say: "god damn, I bet we have to pay to *this* film too, when I literally just paid to see one 13 months ago already?!". Software doesn't magically improve itself, and therefore the people that DO improve it are entitled to get paid for their efforts. Surely that's not a controversial statement. If Blender or Fusion 360's free features are sufficient for your needs, then go use that. No need to immediately come here to just slate the devs teams hard work.

@@overseastom My point is that I bought a version, which I don't have to pay for again to renew it to receive updates. By the way, I renewed Plasticity for a year. Others who bought the software much later can still get the updates. I understand that if a new version of Plasticity comes out, you have to pay for it to want a new version. I have already switched to Rhino, which can do more than Plasticity because it is still in development. And I am allowed to criticize if I disagree with something. Instead of flattering a software while it has not yet achieved its goal of competing with other software.
