this is the best software ever created in the entire 3d industry, crossing the limits of Nurbs, Mesh and parametric modelling.

I'm looking for something to replace Shapr3d - it's so expensive and Fusion is clunky.

@@coinopanimator just go for plasticity.

I don't know any other parametric 3D CAD that is as simple as Shapr3D. Plasticity is excellent if you don't need parametric history. The studio version costs only slightly less than Shapr3D, but you get a perpetual license, you just can't update after a year, but the software stays functional. Solidworks for Makers has an excellent price/performance ratio - yearly subscriptions cost only 50USD. But if you don't like Fusion 360. I don't know if you'll like Solidworks. The interface is similar to other parametric 3D CAD. As for Shapr3D and Plasticity, I have both and neither is ideal for me. I miss the history in Plasticity and Shapr3D doesn't have very good surface modeling.

But it has no history/timeline.

Yknow, Rhino3d is better. Plasticity because it is free generated enough clout to be relevant, however, the likes of Rhino3d are far better and more advanced

Great video! I wish I had a use for plasticity, but I haven't been modeling for ages, and I'm a game designer so most of the benefits would take a long time to tweak once you convert it into poly geo.

Apart from that the sound is horrible and barely understandable, great video. Thanks!

Plasticity has been my favorite modeling software since the day it came out. But I recently returned to Fusion for robotics work; because plasticity still lacks some necessary features I've been requesting for mechanical design.

Nick Kallen developed Plasticity.

have you ever tried ? just curious if files can be imported to fusion360 ...

Rivaling? You gotta be joking. Plasticity is way more powerful and flexible than Fusion 360.
@mucke790725 күн бұрын
Its basically for artists only. I wish it would have an option for more precise modelling. It was impossible for me to create a simple object within 30 min of trying. Going back to onshape, i was done in 3 minutes.

not parametric though.
@arthurprather672028 күн бұрын
That's because Plasticity software is designed for artists, primarily focused on productive designers, not serious engineers
@alkeryn170027 күн бұрын
@@arthurprather6720 sure, but having constraits at least would be nice. i feel like if they added just a few features it could actually be competitive to fusion for hobbyist grade engineering projects
@arthurprather672027 күн бұрын
@@alkeryn1700 I wouldn’t really compare Fusion and Plasticity as direct competitors. Plasticity’s workflow and pipeline are more similar to Blender. But who know maybe in the future, a comparison between Plasticity and Fusion will make sense.
@MichaelJHathaway10 күн бұрын
You're right, you need parametric modeling no matter if you are an engineer or an artist. Rhino is parametric with grasshopper and it does what plasticity does.

@@MichaelJHathaway hmm, rhino isn't cad though it looks like a mesh modeling software so not the same thing exactly. honestly only reason i'm not using fusion is that i run linux lol.
