Plastic doesn't disappear magically after 100 years later, it just turns into micro plastic!

Life expectancy of Solar is 30+ years. Guaranteed. I slang Solar 🌞
@Pandemos2 жыл бұрын
I think they mean the batteries losing their ability to hold a charge, and inverters frying, not the panels. The batteries do not last 30 years, usually 5-15, depending on usage any quality. Inverters have about a decade on them, but there's always one out of a dozen that dies early, hopefully within warranty. Run a business with solar panels on the roof and the panels are solid, but the batteries need to be improved for longevity sake, since they are a very expensive part of the equation.

@@Pandemos just a heads up, most systems don’t need batteries. Huge misconception. So using batteries to define solar isn’t at all correct. Also, I sell Enphase iq8+ micro inverters. The manufacturer warranty on them are 25 years.

@@brochurst8318 so...when the sun goes down...no power. Our system uses batteries, because the sun goes down.

@@Pandemos 😂😂 that’s not at all how solar works buddy.
@Pandemos2 жыл бұрын
@@brochurst8318 I mean, it's literally how ours works, buddy. But okay. Glad you know our system when you have no idea what the setup is. Just because you don't know how to do something doesn't mean it's a thing that doesn't exist or maybe you do and are thinking I meant something else. Or maybe I didn't explain. When the power grid goes down we have solar during the day and batteries charge off solar or grid if things don't go well, like a snowstorm and the solar is blocked for too long until cleared off. Our solar overproduces when it's not having to cover high needs on very hot days (HVAC being the biggest pull, but its been pretty amazingly efficient with how high our insulation rating is), so pulls from solar to batteries in that case. Which is pretty much all the time. We tried to see if overage would go back to the grid and we'd get something more out of it, but there were some issues with the power company on that one. We have a business with millions of dollars of temperature sensitive product and one time the grid went down and the owner decided afterwards to have as much independence as possible without diesel generators. Grid is still there just in case, but we barely tap into it. I'm surprised you've never heard of this setup, but maybe you have a niche specialization in solar. It's a grid tied solar with battery being used unless there is too much pull and we have to use grid power. Edit: i wasn't trying to be snarky, but if you want to, have fun. I was talking about not being mostly grid dependent and with no battery and no sun, there's no power coming in. That's what I was alluding to.

A guy who’s podcast I listen to called anomaly I don’t know if you heard of him but he has a theory on how the sides switched I personally think it’s just two sides of the same coin but he says there’s this thing called the Overton window Theory basically before Covid when everyone became so serious about everything you can claim Democrat Reven claimed that you were moderate in the middle and that was what it was but the Uber 10 window has switched so far left that even if you claim you’re in the middle you’re a republican by default I don’t know it’s just his theory but the left has really turned into Nazis over Covid that’s my theory.

As somebody who works in the plastics industry. IN NORTH AMERICA.... I can say for first hand 🤚 it’s one of cleanest industries there is. We regrind and reuse ♻️ all of of waste. We use fully consumer recycled plastic for some of our products. All made In Canada. But now because of government restrictions. We’re not allowed to produce at a sustainable rate. While our importers are forced to buy plastics from other countries who weep the benefit. With out the crippling enforcement by their current government.

Damn, I felt that last part, about the Federal Reserve. Yeah, you're either Googling this shit at 3AM like the obsessive nutjob realizing the whole system is fucked & unsustainable, or you're busy blaming the red/blue tie setup for all your woes. The amount of shit people are able to shovel off to the current or last presidents is astounding, especially when they don't do shit most of the time. I think we could get by with the population we have though. We just need to put profits a bit lower on the list when it comes to things like recycling, but good luck with that one, I guess....

I totally agree, I think the overpopulation thing is a convenient red herring to distract from their increasingly bloated profit margins. In many cases, we already have enough resources for everyone.

@@gerkogerkogerko Yea, I think there's also a lifestyle aspect. People don't want to be inconvenienced by restrictions, having to be more conservative with their water, at the grocery store, etc. they want a million choices and they want them now.

@@MrSlowestD16 people are definitely really into their brand loyalty and myriad choices at the store. A whole lot of that came from the supply side, IMO, we've been trained to be lazy consumers.
