As a rock drummer, definitely Bonzo no question, but while jazz drummers like Elvin Jones, Max Roach and Art Blakey could run circles around Ginger, they also respected his skill. His feel for time was more nimble and dextrous than Bonham's and while Bonham was influenced by jazz drummers, Ginger was also influenced by the African rhythms that the jazz drummers were influenced by. That said, Ginger was an odious personality and was definitely jealous of the success of drummers like Bonham. He's lucky that his ego didn't completely keep him in obscurity and that he at least was able to hang onto Cream for a legacy.

Bonham had catchier grooves, better hooks and rocked harder. Baker's jazz influenced fills and solos were more interesting and more musical. Both were the right drummer for their band.

Bonham was better. Baker was great but who cares? He's an ass. I prefer to listen to many other drummers. And that's really all that matters.
