While I agree with you, Unfortunately, that would be very difficult to do and unlikely to happen. A player would need to take charge of it, they would have to pay dues, attend meetings, etc. There’s just a lot of costs of both time and money players would have to put into it. And with many of the players being young, they just don’t have experience with that kinda of thing. Custa has talked about this a bit on his streams if you’re really curious about why it’s near impossible to start a player’s union.

Vancouver essentially did the same thing and then did it again for the half-ass team they brought in; Boston kept 6 people for straight loss games and only after S2 and 3 started making an actual team. If you all were going to watch more games, I think it would be cool to watch an NYXL Season 1 game from when they were at their peak. Also, a cool thing you could do for the upcoming season would be a team draft where each of you pick each OWL team by predicting how many wins each team would have. For example, Shock would probably go high in the draft because they should be one of the best teams. At the end of the season, you add up the teams' wins for each of you. #content

I understand that the plat chat cast can't criticize the over watch league, but they definitely have some culpability. At the very least they made a negligent mistake changing the contract rule that allows for the destruction of all of these player's careers, but blizzard, just like the teams, is out for money and if they could change the contracts so players can be dropped more easily without backlash, it's more money in their pockets at the end of the day. I blame Immortals for this, but you can't provide orgs the opportunity to do stuff like this and then just expect them all to do the right thing and lose money. That's why rules like the old one existed in the first place.

Entrusting a corporation to properly regulate other corporations is never going to end well. They're all driven by greed.
@danielfrost63273 жыл бұрын
@@ScorchHellfire Yes, but if they receive public backlash from acting in a certain way, that very greed will motivate them to change to conform to what the public wants, which is precisely why I made the above point.
@ScorchHellfire3 жыл бұрын
@@danielfrost6327 That _should_ be how it works. But sadly, ActiBlizz (like most corporations) has repeatedly shown that the vast majority of public backlash is not enough to make them actually change course. It has to take a lot more than usually happens to force their hand (like that one time where the outcry over the proposition of having people's real names appear next to forum posts was near universal). Usually they either apologize/try to reassure their players/viewers (responding to the Diablo Immortal fiasco by reminding everyone that they had other Diablo projects in the works) and keep going or make some hollow half-measure (like only reducing Blitzchung's ban to 6 months instead of a year despite the fact that he was only doing what Blizzard themselves have often done and then giving a vague and insincere apology at Blizzcon) to placate the people just enough that it won't hurt their profit margin in any significant way.
@b0ld6513 жыл бұрын
Blizzard is owned by activision. That should tell you everything about their greed. Their employees are super underpaid, it got to a point where OSHA (or whatever the org is called) sent out surveys to the employees. Their execs in blizz and activision are earning way too much and a few execs have been accused of unprofessional conduct in the workplace.

11:20 reinforce is right, they did add artificial latency to games. In order to make games fair, they added artificial latency to players with good connection to make it fair for people with a bad connection.
