Nice Video Blinkoom! I've always thought Unravel 2 looked fun, but maybe I'll stay away from it for now. Those trophies look brutal

This is a subject I can kind of both relate and not relate to. On one hand, I definitely get the sentiment. For the most part, once I finish a game, unless it's like a fighting game where it never technically ends, I don't really ever revisit them. But on the other, that's largely due to me platinum'ing every game I've played for several years now. Being a semi-completionist, I play games to the point where I'm fully content and/or completely sick of them so I rarely feel the urge to go back. Only exception are maybe the occasional port or remaster years latter. So with that in mind, yeah...I've put myself through the ringer in a lot of cases. Done a fair amount of difficult and time-consuming stuff. Especially the latter given I primarily play RPGs. 100 hours, 200 hours, there's one in particular that took me 400+ hours. I'm very much stubborn when it comes to this. ("Cristales") Oh that's one I've done myself. And yeah, I more or less feel similarly. It's not a bad game, it's more just...okay. The time controlling gimmick is interesting but it's so restrictive and limited in what you can actually do with it, in battles anyway, that there was a point where I just stopped using it nearly entirely unless forced to. Putting it that way, finishing the game while barely using its defining gimmick kind of speaks for itself. Again, I don't think it's bad. I'd even go as far as to say it's a decent recommend if you're looking for some "Paper Mario" adjacent stuff to try. It just won't be a memorable experience.

Yeah I think I kind of set up unrealistic expecations because I was following Cris Tales before it came out and couldn't wait to play it day one. Pretty much agree with everything you said, its a fine game but you just kinda forget about it eventually. A real 6/10 kind of experience. I can't even imagine trying to platinum every RPG I played so kudos to you! I think if I had that mentality I would just end up avoiding RPGs which is the opposite of how you want trophies to interact with your game playing

Interesting video mate. Never heard of the first 3 but now I'm intrigued. Cristales I own but never opened the case in truth, would you recommend?
@Blinkoom4 ай бұрын
I think Cris Tales is decent but it's a bit slow and simple for my tastes. Depending on how much you're in the mood for a turn based RPG, you might have some fun though. It's a great looking game and has a cool concept for sure

For Unravel 2 physical, there is one surprisingly. PAL exclusive on ps4 and it comes with both Unravel 1 and 2 on disc. Sadly though it's not cheap. This was a fun video to watch Blink!

Lauren actually just ordered Cris Tales for Switch! It was super cheap and something I think she'll enjoy, but I can definitely see why it didn't hit for you. Hopefully she enjoys it! Thanks for doing a video response, always fun to see others picks for this topic! 🙂

I do wish more rogue games would take the route of being rogue likes instead of rogue lites but I am pretty biased because my first game in those two genres was STS so I prefer if the only improvements being your own knowledge.
@Blinkoom4 ай бұрын
Yeah I imagine that hardcore genre fans are probably bummed in some ways about it being streamlined so hardcore. I think the world is better when we have a lot of options for both types of games

Will you or have you ever played crypt of the necrodancer? I've heard that it's basically one of the best experiences in the genre even if the plat is highly unlikely to be obtained.

Can't blame you on metronomicon. You can play perfectly on the rhythm and still fail if you pick the wrong moves. Deceptively hard plat.
@Blinkoom4 ай бұрын
Yeah unfortunately wasn't for me. It's one of those games that I'm happy to move on from. Thankfully I don't go for a 100% account, even if I do try to work up my completion percentage as often as I can

If a game has a speed run trophy I’m out😅 I’m also considering giving up on yakuza plat series, I don’t think I can handle that 😂
