Very intresting, I kinda agree with Plato on this theory, I love his thoughts.

Do you see any relationship between Gurdjieff's concepts of Holy Affirming, Holy Denying & Holy Reconciling and Hegel's concepts of Thesis, Antithesis and Synthesis ?

I think that the Gurdjieff system can find similarities in many other philosophical concepts. But yes, it will be interesting to consider this point more deeply when we come to that part of the book. Thanks for pointing it out and I look forward to investigating it further. 🙏

Gurdjieff's 4 states of consciousness derives from Plato's cave &/or Turiya the fourth "Affirmed" &"Denied" are from Aristotle's Term logic & dialectical synthesis was first developed by Ficthe, although the Daoist yinyang & Dao (the circle around it), sort of stated the same sentiment.

Have you found a school?
@bookclub52912 жыл бұрын
I did find a school and was a part of it for around 10 years. It was very helpful and necessary as Gurdjieff says, although of course it had its own issues like everything in this life. I was very lucky. Have you found one?

Ahh thats great! How was your teacher? My father was in a school for many years, So I grew up with the system with me and my brothers, and It has become a very big part of my life, if not the biggest. I have not yet been in a real school, but when I am done with high school And in a suitable place in my life to really focus on inner development I will begin searching for one.
