Blaine, I'm having trouble with jailbreaking my wii u, I'm following the written guide, and it just says to unzip the tiramisu download, put it onto the root of my SD card, with the sigpatches file put into the correct folder that the guide tell me to. I go to do the broswer exploit following this, and I just get aa black screen on the gamepad saying FSOpenFile failed. File Missing /vol/external01/wiiu/payload.elf But that missing file is there, not to mention, all I do is unzip the original download and put it on my SD card. So I don't know how I can put replace a missing file that ins't actually missing. So I'm just stumped, do you maybe have any idea as to why this is happening? I tried this but when i try to open mame roms folder it freezes and hard crashes. A full mame rom set. Maybe too many roms in na single folder? Any adive for how to run retroarch mame with a full rom set? Certain number of roms in a folder limit or somethint????

I don't know where to find the bios files. I only have 2 nes games & 1 snes game. The snes game works great but the 2 nes games are not seen. If I manually put the path in like you did, the game will open & play but, once the game is closed it does not show up. Only the 1 snes shows.

For all nintendo systems up to the ds you can use the Ultimate Wii U Virtual Console Injector and for Gamecube and Wii there is the TeconMoonWiiVC injector. Both of these will create installable WUP packages to put on your wii u home screen. Almost all games play just like if you got them off the virtual console (or better if you want to remove the dark filter). Unfortunately I don’t know a way for sega, atari, or the turbografx.

Thank you I got it done took some time do. I did ran to a problem do. My wii u will not boot and stay on a black screen. But I updated tiramisu and it worked I guess it changed my tiramisu to an older version. Is there a way to update retroarch to the must current version without messing up all this up I'm afraid if I do something it might mess it up.

Fortunately I already did that with my Wii U. Only thing though was that not all rom files get detected if I use scan directory so I had to use manual scan. Same thing when I did RetroArch on my PSVita. That and because scan directory just ran sluggish.

Oh No! I had a modded Wii U that I had installed games to using USB Helper. I tried to follow this guide, but now my Wii U just shows a black screen when I try to boot using the SD card I made following your previous guide using CrazyMacs collection. How can I get back to what I had? Or get this working? If I boot without the SD card it does at least go to the Wii U menu, so isn't bricked at least. If I have to revert my Wii U to original state, to remod, retry the CrazyMac install and reupload the games I had I will have lost hours of work and have to redo everything. Is there a payload file I can reinstate or something? It's gone from the greatest possible retro machine to a massive headache! (and my kids joycons have all crapped out too, I'm heading into Nintendo hating country!)

In fact, a guide from you regarding what to do in a situation like this would be very welcome. I have an SD card backup made when I modded the WiiU. Should I overwrite my WiiU SD card with this? I presume this SHOULD get me back to the prior state of modded Wii U, prior to attempting to do the CrazyMac retro game install. Is this correct?

OK, panic over. I tried using the SD card backup I had and could see my modded stuff was there. Then I put .old after the earlier dated .elf file and reinstated the .elf file I had on the backup. Everything appears to be working. To note; there is quite a lot of black screen time waiting for Retroarch to load, and for a game to load. I thought it was just hanging at a black screen, but it just takes time. Phew, and thank you!

Armoa environment is a menu for the installations that mod your wii u. If you're not being careful then yes you can have it bricked but if you fallowed tutorials you're fine
