I feel for the kids today. Growing up, at least we had girl groups that we could listen to that were around our age and appropriate for the time. Groups like Play, cheeta girls, skye sweetnam, aly & aj, Hannah Montana,etc. I dont know of any groups now. It seems like they are listening to adult music from the get go. I'm glad I got to experience listening to this group when i was like 10 lol, i still remember the baby blue cd

Ugh I know Faye leaving greatly impacted Play’s success. I mean cmon now, they toured with freakin Destiny’s Child, like what newer artist can say they toured and opened for Queen Bey?! Shit they were on the come up with Faye between 2001-2004. Let’s face it, Janet was the reason Play had to remain targeting a younger girl crowd, and couldn’t evolve into a more grown girl group image that would’ve catapulted them into the stardom their contemporaries experiences
@choloyolo85223 жыл бұрын
I actually think that were going for a more mature look but they had no chance but to stay in that lane because of Janet

They really should have just kept going with the other 3 girls instead of trying to replace Faye, or they could have took a little break and came back in 2006 everyone had a chance musically in 2006.

This is the era that messed up the group.. if Faye wasn’t gonna be in the group they should’ve just moved forward with the original 3 and then this Era took a step back even more kiddy then their first album, the first album was teen pop this was kidz bop then they tried to get another girl with red hair to fool us I guess thinking cause we was kids we wouldn’t notice like girl we see that BIG nose that ain’t Faye stop playing with us, but still nostalgic none or less.

I agree with you, like Janet had pipes don’t get me wrong, but she was super young.... she was 13 while everyone else was 17-18 . If they didn’t pick someone so young they probably wouldn’t have had to go with kidz bop music..
@torytakken51775 жыл бұрын
iKETOURAGE right but had they just continue with the remaining 3 that would have been ok
@Momosaymkay5 жыл бұрын
Janet is a gorgeous girl. No one expected for her to “fool” anyone. She is clearly Iranian and no one thought people would confuse her with Faye. I just think they wanted to distinguish the girls a bit more. I agree with you saying this era just got too young. The problem was that they needed someone to hit Faye’s notes. There’s no way the other girls would have been able to do that. I think Janet was the only girl around that could sing the notes so she got picked. They definitely shouldn’t have gone so young though. I imagine there was some decent money with the Evergirl sponsorship though.
