I think this is a new favorite. I was kind of afraid that Guaraldi's originals would be drowned out by the sheer amount of Beethoven here, but tracks like "Stupid Beagle" and "Charlie's Rock" are wonderful! This will be on constant rotation until August when I switch over to "It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown."

As a Peanuts and Beethoven fan, I'm glad of listening to this soundtrack, it's good to listen what sonatas Schroeder plays, I'm amazed that he could play one of the most difficult as the Hammerklavier, I searched for Lillian Steuber and found out that she made some recordings with Jascha Heifetz.

14:49 my favorite song! For those interested in the chords, it’s a 12-Bar blues type of arrangement of G, G7, C, G, D, C (and back to) G. The song definitely reminds me of The Beatles song ‘Cry For A Shadow’ and The Hillbilly Bears ‘Do The Bear’ song 🎶

I wonder what the story is with that one Harry Bluestone track. I've got a hunch it's just a library cue they found somewhere and decided to use it, considering he did a ton of production music cues, but I have no idea why they just used a random stock cue for just that one scene.

Beginning with this special, Guaraldi began experimenting with electronic sounds. You'll notice a lot of Fender Rhodes. Even his sidemen are more electric. The guitar has a "dirtier" rock sound compared to the smoother guitar heard in "All Stars" or "Great Pumpkin". But what really bugs me is the bass. This is clearly an electric bass playing but Snoopy is still depicted as playing a stand-up bass fiddle. (Maybe animators didn't know how to draw electric basses without distinguishing from the guitar? *shrugs*)
