i would say for vr gpu bandwidth is kinda needed due to the higher pixel pushing requirements. if paired with decent compute capabilities, then that would be better. for such regards, i personally have a amd rx 6700 xt with 12 gb of vram that has over 300gb per second of data passthrough. though, for a cheap yet capable vr gpu i would say the rx 6700 non-xt is the current sweetspot. 10gb of vram, between 3060 and 3060 ti. and less than 300 usd.

There are additional problems with AMD for VR kzbin.info/www/bejne/fITUip6rgM-LraM The video encoder for Quest link isn't as good, there are problems with video players in VRC, the performance difference versus NVidia is lessened compared to flat screen games (babeltechreviews.com/hellhound-rx-7900-xtx-vs-rtx-4080-50-games-vr/), and it's worse for creative apps like Blender (and doesn't support the Bakery lightmapper which I cover on this channel) which makes it more difficult for me to recommend over NVidia.

@@iconoclass tbh for me as valve index user i dont mind the video encoder on my behalf. but yeah the vrc video player issue do be annoying, hence i just opted foir the cpu fallback launch setting.
