@@emotionalshawty7349145 million users. you don’t just abandon the old console when a new one comes out as that player base takes years to switch consoles, and many never do. don’t still supports ps4 now, and only just recently stopped their games being multi platform. xbox is still supporting the xbox one with every single game. nintendo supported the 3DS until late 2019/ early 2020, when the switch released in 2017.

People have been "predicting" WWHD and TPHD for almost a decade now, accept it, they aren't happening, ever. Best you'll most likely get is either OoT HD or Oracles remakes, maybe even a minish cap remake, but at this point it's painfully obvious to anyone capable of critical thinking that TPHD and WWHD are NOT coming to Switch.

I NEVER played WW or TP. I'm playing phantom hourglass right now and it's maybe my all time favorite Zelda, at least top 3 besides BotW and TotK. (I'm like 40% through I guess, but I'm taking my time). The puzzles are INSANELY good, the implementation of the stylus is crazy, I love it. There is even a puzzle with the shell design of the system, so you gotta close the DS/3DS to solve the puzzle (wonder how it works with the normal 2DS tho) xD really looking forward to WW especially, since PH is the sequel.

My personal guesses for the February Direct are like these. - Opener: Either a brand-new Star Fox, Kid Icarus, F-Zero or Golden Sun - Obvious ender: Something centered heavily on Geno (from Mario RPG), in a sort of Snufkin-like treatment. Can be either an action RPG (like Kingdom Hearts) or hack-and-slash (like Dynasty Warriors).

I think the rumors that the Metroid Echoes will be less remastered are outdated. The heavy delay could indicate they went back to the drawing board and gave it the same treatment. Nintendo is a sucker for consistency.

I don’t think the release of Switch 2 means the end of Switch 1 content on Nintendo’s channel, even when it is bunched together with other videos and branded as a “Direct”. Actually, often the trailers on the Direct packages are worse than the other individual trailers that come out on Nintendo’s channel and the EShop.

I don't think Nintendo will throw Metroid Prime 2 and 3 on the same cartridge if they could make more profit from selling them separately but if there isn't a whole lot of remaster word done on them then I can see it making sense that they bundle them. I would like to own a physical copy of each but we will see. I don't see Nintendo giving us Prime 4 prior to releasing 2 and 3 so I bet they give us a release date for 2 and 3 at the rumored February direct.

Some of those 3DS games were made to really pop in 3D mode. The graphics won’t be as impressive no matter how HD they get. Parallax in 3D is IMO the best looking graphical effect for 2D games ever. Playing the Sega Classics on 3DS was ridiculously entertaining, the 3D really elevated them.

my personal theory for why WW/TP are taking so ungodly long to come out is adjacent to what you said; Nintendo knows damn well how badly Zelda fans want these games on Switch and because of that, they likely don’t want to release them too close to other games and risk potentially cannibalizing their sales. However, I also feel at this point, they’re gonna be separate rereleases at $50 a pop and released around a year apart to not only keep the trend of annual Zelda content, but because Nintendo knows they can get away with it… 😐

I’ve played every iteration of WW & TP released and emulated so I’m not as excited for those but would love to see Metroid Returns from 3DS, Kid Icarus or any of the Metroid Prime games. I never played Planet Robobot so would be cool to get a chance to play that somewhere other than 3DS.

i was born in 98, and was not exposed to wind waker until 2009 thru my brothers friend when he lent us the gamecube disc, i couldnt figure out how to beat shadow ganon as a kid, but i beat it multiple times as an adult. i wasnt allowed to play rated T games besides smash, so no twilight princess either. I beat twilight princess and there were some scary things in it that wouldve freaked me out as a kid definately. also I dont think I would buy the discs now. ive never bought used physical games after 2012

I'm looking forward to more ports, and more "collections" to go on sale in the eShop. I think one thing is for certain. The eShop isn't going anywhere (even-though the menus look a bit wonky, and need a bit of an update), and the Switch 1 and Switch 2 will get their games from there. So just like with the Steam library we can have an archive of our games on the Switch/Switch2 (or just the eShop Cloud for redownloads). At some point I was considering to go the Steam+Steamdeck route, but ultimately went with the Switch 1 instead. Nintendo has a nice mix of social games and RPGs (the genre that I like most) on a handheld device. I just want more sales and more ports to increase my game collection. The Nintendo Direct will probably feature a few games for the Switch 1, but mostly newer games that the hardware of the Switch 2 can handle: Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, Metaphor ReFantazio, etc. They'll just add more current games to the eShop.

The February Nintendo Direct won't have any games for Switch 2 if the direct is only for Switch 1. Nintendo most likely doesn't want developers announcing Switch 2 versions until the April Direct.

Hmmm... How 'bout this? The Switch has that gigantic install-base, see? What if, that long overdue 'niche' franchise was actually the hd port of...007: Goldeneye-Reloaded?! Goldeneye got all sorts of gamers into multiplayer fps gaming. As much as I doubt it would happen, I think it could be a big pay day and who knows, what if Rare came back to Nintendo as MS fizzles out of consoles??? the game in a niche franchise was specifically said it was a new game and not a remake or remaster. also goldeneye was made by rare and that’s owned by microsoft. there’s no way they announce a switch 1 exclusive for it. if anything, it would be a AAA modern remake by microsoft that gets put on switch 2 and ps5.

We've been begging Nintendo to bring Wind Waker and Twilight Princess to Nintendo Switch since the console released in 2017. Look what happened. We still don't have the games. Go dust off your Wii U's, or GameCubes, if you have those old consoles still, and play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on those consoles. Because Nintendo isn't gonna do what you want. Nintendo doesn't care about what you want. If Nintendo did care, they would have given us the games on Nintendo Switch years ago. We've been waiting for wind waker HD and twilight princess HD to come out on the switch for a long time since 2022 it's time for these games to come out on the switch this year in 2025 come on Nintendo give us these games. On the 5th or 4th of this month is the Nintendo direct so hopefully we will finally get the release date for one of these games now I looked on gamefly and I typed legend of zelda and there is a slot that said the box art style for wind waker HD so that has to be a clue that we are getting wind waker HD first. Witch is totally fine by me however that means that we will get twilight princess HD later on this year for the switch 2 most likely. I'm still on the edge of getting the switch 2 it all depends on the price if its above $250 no thanks if it's under $250 I'll take one and i also want to know what you guys think about it the pros and cons about it. Anyway for this upcoming Nintendo direct in the next few days please give us the release date for wind waker HD.

Twilight Princess is my pick. About Fire Emblem, I don't know man, I'm not sure that I would trust them with anything Fire Emblem related. Engage was SO TERRIBLE. The aesthetic of the MC was just UGLY, with that clashing red and blue, as well as the MC's personality is INFURIATINGLY BETA. Also, the side cast are so creepy and culty. They act overly familiar from the beginning, they are obsessive over the MC even though they don't, and have never known, MC. They only know of MC through stories. And, said side characters only have about as much personality as a piece of cardboard, and are about as NPC as NPC's can get. The bad guys are evil just for the sake of being evil, which comes across as very cartoonish and boring. And, as for Engage's biggest sin, relying on past Fire Emblem Champions for nostalgia bait, and to carry the entire game, because they KNEW it was crap. So, no. I do not trust them with the Fire Emblem franchise, right now. 🤦🏻‍♀ -L🌘E
