Beautiful rivers and wonderful aerial views! The waterfall is amazing- very impressive to see the exposed black/ dark rocks! I'm sure it was fun to get out with your son... you guys covered lots of territory.. and heading into the wind looked challenging! Looks like you have to pick your picnic spot carefully- it's so rocky that you can't just get out anywhere along the shore. Exciting trip...great wild life, adorable otters! A pretty, sunny day! :) Like!!

Wow! So cool! I have so many memories there, I couldn't begin to tell you. My heart is full after watching this, actually. Thank you. 🙏 I once 'lost' my little Sportspal canoe on Black Creek. I was barely a man, and left it untethered for one minute. The wind picked up and blew that empty aluminum canoe off into the creek. I swam a bit, but my 'wake' and the wind just pushed the canoe further and further... finally realized that I was too far out and getting tired. It became a dangerous situation for a second! I had to rush back home and grab dad's boat and motor to go after my canoe! Luckily I caught up to it just before the Mill! Wow, a panic for a minute! Hahaha! Spent many, many hours paddling and swimming and recreating on the Spanish. The dark water always reminded me of that one Doobie Brothers song about the Mississippi... "Ol' black water, keep on rollin'...." Great video as usual! Awesome record of a beautiful place!

Wow, what a great story! Glad you recovered the old Sportspal - I remember those! The wind seems to just funnel down that channel and it doesn't have to be a really windy day overall to get that effect, at least that was our experience. The waves weren't that big for the wind we faced so I can appreciate how quickly your canoe must have sailed away. Thanks for sharing your story and I'm glad the videos bring back old memories. Cheers.

I was expecting a "Weeeeeeeee" down the rapids😁 That wind looked a bit tough to paddle through when it caught you. You certainly have some nice areas to paddle in and it's nice that it's not crowded! Those otters were trying to trick you into something. Don't trust those sneaky animals😀 Another great video, Daryl😊

Thanks Age. Yeah, I should bring back the "Weeee." :-) That was a fun day, other than the wind. Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks! Very enjoyable virtual paddle! Otters are so curious and fun to play with, eh? Too bad about Espanola plant shutting down. Hopefully another company will start up for the many now unemployed!

Yes, those otters were so much fun. I really do hope things work out for Espanola - I love that town. Thanks for watching.

been there - done that .... the Verm flowing through Foster township on its way into the Merritt township and joining into the Spanish coming from Nairn township is about as historical as in gets in this area... good shots of the mill dam in Espanola - this stuff is interesting when you read the old township survey reports and the story of how the mill began and evolved
