Tuning a 12 is relatively easy for normal tuning. The main issue is getting a good guitar that STAYS in tune. An electric tuner will get you in the neighborhood, but you have to have a good ear to adjust some strings to get a good resonance, to hit that sweet spot! Then, for Jimmy’s songs you get into open D and open G, and even more exotic tunings. Would not advise trying to change tunings while playing a gig! Easier to get different guitars for each tuning. Just don’t go overboard, it gets expensive when you go over a couple of dedicated guitars!

12 strings are easy, all you do is play it like a normal 6. That’s literally all it is. You’ll get used to it. Tuning it isn’t that hard either. It’s no harder then re stringing a guitar

Make sure to tune down a step or you’ll bow the 12-string because the tension is way more than a 6-string.
