The best thing to come out of this for golf would be the SHOT CLOCK!! It would definitely make golf more playable and more watchable if everything was kept moving along! With the advancements of carts with all of the electronics, there could be a shot clock incorporated!
@industrialpalletworx354826 күн бұрын
Absolutely. Let the tour use carts with their caddies add in the shot clock. You could easily shave an hour or 2 off of a round.
@Anthony-bx5yk19 күн бұрын
@@industrialpalletworx3548 I think this would be more than enough to shorten official pga tour rounds but I highly doubt they'll do carts too and they probably shouldn't unless it's literally just for sticking on the cart path. And then there's the spectator thing taking up space on those paths. Some of these courses are cart free for one thing and then the grass is in such a special condition for official events I don't believe they'd want carts going over the grass. Ya know how picky our local courses are with the "stick to the cart path this hole" 😂. I imagine it's 100 times worse with these prominent golf courses / cc's haha. Idk to be honest there's nothing like seeing them walk up to green and just the casualness of seeing them walk down the fairways too. It's a part of golf. But a shot clock can definitely help out
@industrialpalletworx354819 күн бұрын
@@Anthony-bx5yk no argument. However, the Champions tour uses carts with no problems. I would like to see carts for a couple of reasons. It would speed play up even further. Most golf courses and players use carts anyway so they would just be like everyone else. Third and I think the more valuable portion to using carts, cart cams with microphones. Getting the insight like we do now with some of our favorite KZbinrs could be gold. Not to say that definitely would be but it could be. I feel like the PGA Tour still has this exclusive country club mentality. 95% of players play public courses. The other part that has always bugged me and always will, accessibility. I can't stand for the life of me that just about every course on tour is a country club and inaccessible to the general public. For real, who doesn't want to see the plaque in the 18th fairway at Merion where Ben Hogan hit the famed shot from in the US Open. I can only look at it in pictures. There are a few exceptions, but I surely would love to see more pressure put on these so called "exclusive clubs" to be more accessible. I would have no problem paying top dollar to play as more than likely it's a once and done thing. I'm paying for that experience. Ok I'm done now.
@Anthony-bx5yk19 күн бұрын
@industrialpalletworx3548 oh the champions tour uses carts? I can't lie I have only seen like 2 minutes worth of champions tour footage in the past several years so I had no idea lol. Do they do it for the entire round and every shot too? And also do they play different courses or is it the same one? If they play the same course as the PGA tour I imagine they do it after the PGA tour event like maybe the next weekend or something
@industrialpalletworx354819 күн бұрын
@@Anthony-bx5yk they use them for the whole round. It's optional for every player on the Champions tour. I don't think they play the same courses. I think they have their own group or events. I'm only slightly aware as I'm nearing 50 and every intention of giving it go in a Monday Qualifier. Currently the nearest event to me is The Dicks Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, NY. I'm a few years away from that though, so who knows it may not be around when I'm old enough.
