Seeing all these "it's a Mario ripoff" type of comments, I just gotta say... Mario64 literally invented the 3D platformer genre. Of course Astro Bot is gonna look and play like a 3D Mario game. Every 3D platformer that ever existed looks and plays like a 3D Mario game.

And also, saying Astro Bot is Sony's Mario is a GIANT compliment, Mario is a staple on the platforming genre and one of the biggest franchises in gaming, being put in the same level as Mario is no small joke, many "Mario rippofs" fall short of being as unique, inventive, engaging or charming as Mario, Astro Bot is not one of them. Since the Little Big Planet days Sony was lacking a good platformer with a lovable character, until now.

Spiderman 2 sold 11 million copies TLOU 2 10 million copies GOW Ragnarok- 15 million copies Horizon FW- 9 million copies Stellar Blade (Sony published game)- not an established IP still surpassed the million sales mark. Other Sony IP’s have sold quite strong. No use whingeing about the lack of “bright games” when you have no factual ground to stand on.

This game feels like a cross between Pikmin (story) and Super Mario Galaxy. It deserves the praise. I played it for an hour last night and was hooked. Blew my expectations out of the water.

Found this infinitely better than Forgotten Land. It comes across through its insanely polished platforming and overall visual design with interactivity within its open environments. It’s like the half life of the platforming genre. Needless to say I was quite disappointed with Forgotten Land and that by end it just becomes repetitive due to its lack of surprises outside of its final boss. Everyone should experience Astro Bot. It’s that good.

from what im seeing a lot of the gameplay and gameplay concepts has been done before in past 3D Mario games so not wholly original really but art style and graphically the game looks really nice and fun to play overall...

Also there's never been a Mario game on PlayStation, so even if we take away the fact that the game is derivative, it's still a monumental release that could open the door to new types of PlayStation fans. I'm very interested to see how this game will do in sales.

Super Mario Galaxy was the first gane that made me fall in love with fantasy space and Astro Bot is taking me back home to that love. I do not have a PS5 yet, but once I do, I'm definitely getting this game.

The battery in the Dualsense is really working overtime for this game. The controller never stops vibrating or making noise...it's kind of insane.

This game is a throwback to PS2/ PS3 era game design and innovation and I'm all for it. Really shows how far playstation and gaming in general and has declined over the years as its mainly now about emotional storytelling and diversity hires aka people that don't really know how to make games. Also not everything needs to be open world as they are largely the same, repetitive, boring and predictable. In short this IS PlayStations BEST game since Bloodborne! Congrats to Asobi studios you just made the greatest 3D Mario Clone of all time and are now PlayStations best studio and no doubt are about to win the GOTY!

The game is 80 levels and it took him 40 minutes to beat 5 levels so if you divide 80 by 5 you get 16,.16×40 you get 640 minutes,640 minutes is 10.6 hours so it will take him 10.6 hours to beat the game
