I completely agree with the damage some of the supports do. It’s more needed for them to be viable in 5v5, plus they still ultimately have to focus on healing the team.

Do you ever hear Paladins players worry about the support chars being too weak overall? I have been producing games professionally for 6 years now. Granted, I'm mainly a developer but 6 years is a long enough time to spend with game designers, so I know what I'm talking about, OK? This corner blizzard have found themselves in is due to the playerbase actually. The playerbase of the game doesn't have enough people who would play support for the sake of supporting the team. They would feel inferior when their dps teammates get all the kills. They are (on average, mind you) incapable of getting satisfaction from a team victory where their contributions were essential. So blizzard has to give them kill potential, which is quite different from "a chance to fight back". Just play paladins and you will see how "4 chars with shields on the game" doesn't break the fun, and how supports can be support without killing, and how they can also fight back under certain situations.

Last i checked the community as a whole, Blizzard included purposely wanted to move away from that. They purposely wanted to make the game more brawl and purposely gave supports more opportunity to defend themselves due to lack of protection. Nobody wants to play a game just to passively contribute and get dove on all game because targeting supports is an easy solution every game. If you’re a developer then stick to your coding because your sense of game balance and business sense is dog shit. Nobody would play support to have a bad experience and have minimal impact. If it were up to you every support would be a bot mercy player and just like on launch, nobody would play the role. Even now support has the shortest queue time because hardly anyone really wants to play it in comparison to other roles. You don’t even know the intended direction of OW2 so how are you going to argue about it 😂 Also, fuck paladins no wonder you have that skill issue killing supports. You just don’t like targets that can hit back. Asking me why I’m hurt when you’re typing up an essay for me. Don’t forget your MLA format little buddy 🤣

Nah, Ana its better for multitasking, she can do damage while healing in the backline, your whole team will be always in your line of sight, with Bap you need to be in the frontline with your Tank if you also want to do damage and with that you cant see what its happening on your back, maybe your team its dying because of flankers.

tbf, the whole point of zen is that he’s basically a dps in the support slot. He can heal passively so he’s wasting lot’s of damage if he doesn’t focus on killing.

I think he means that with Zen you can just throw a healing orb on someone and just forget about it, you don't need to actively focus on heals while it's attached to a teammate
