0:00 Pro Flight Trainer Luna X. 2:26 Having a counterweight at the back is basically crucial to any VR headset, which is why I keep recommending getting battery headstraps especially for the Quests. They should really bring on an Apache stick and collective grip combo... :) PS: Need moar Luna.

I've had the Crystal for about as long as you, and I don't usually use it for much longer than 1/2 hour because it can get uncomfortable for really long sessions. I love the Crystal though. I refuse to fly sims without it nowdays.

Are you using the apache strap or the new deluxe strap? Makes a difference as someone who uses it for hours with an apache strap

Hey Mover, I’m a retired Army Aviator, Commercial CFI/CFII with 41 years of experience, but due to health issues I’ve retired. I’m just getting started in DCS and I have a question. What process do you use in selecting accessories such as flight control systems, VR headsets or even computer components, when selecting for your system? There’s a lot of scrupulous people out there so I have to be careful about what I purchase, and I’m sure you’ll agree the necessity of getting it right the first time. Thanks, CW4 DL

For that kind of money you really should consider a VPForce Rhino FFB stick base, that would have been a real upgrade.

@@WhiteHawk77 FFB is just awesome. I'm lucky to still have the good old Microsoft Sidewinder FFB2, but I need to get that base as well for more precision and all the buttons and hats that my TMWH stick has which I don't use.

FFB is fine for many other aircraft but not really of any use in helicopters. They require huge forces to move (3 tons and more), which results in no feedback forces through the servos or controls. If the FFB base can operate as force trim then it would be useful.

@@cammy9r not only can it be used for trim but FFB allows you to dial in how a control behaves much closer than a non FFB stick. Not sure why anyone thinks FFB only means the controls actively move due to wind moving the aircraft around and bumps on the ground, there’s more to it than that and will get you something much better than a spring based system with crappy dampers regardless of the forces a helicopter sends through the cyclic. Plenty of people online and on discord that fly helicopters that are much happier with the Rhino than previous non FFB bases.

Why is the whole HUD display assembly thing 45 degrees tilted to the left?

It's the monocle of the helmet mounted display (IHADSS) and it is placed like that in front of your right eye, obviously. There's a keybind to flip it away to the right side to get a clear view.

It's a shame pimax never implemented the Almalence software into the firmware/pimax play software.. Since losing the free version I've lost interest in using my crystal in DCS. 😔 PS I did find if I set my computers date back a month or so the software works again, but DCS freaks out.

Could not buy the materials for 100 let alone the labour unless you still think its 1955. Although the $1500+ tag is high it is not that much more expensive than a virpil setup at around 1200. I diy'ed a collective and it cost me 60 in parts but I have 10K in equipment and just enough skill to use it all, configure electronics and program the arduino. Point being it is expensive either way you go. Let ne know the details to your blacksmith as I have a huge order for them waiting.😁
