A fun fact- the OST of this game is super interesting, each member of the club is represented by an instrument During Natsuki and Yuri’s fight for example, it’s a chaotic back and forth between a clarinet (Yuri) and a xylophone (Natsuki)

In case no one has pointed it out yet, the line "Haven't I heared that before" to Natsuki saying "it's not like I made them for you", was a reference to tsundere characters in anime. Since the MC is big into anime and manga, and recognizes that behaviour pattern in Natsuki. Which is a neat little first hint into what hobbys Natsuki has. Also, Natsuki is a dificult character to like if one doesn't take an unbiased/open minded view point. Without spoiling to much, since I don't know if you will try out her rout or not, you are right in asuming that she is verry insecure. And people like Yuri are people who directly feed into her insecuritys. (Not gona elaborate on that further, just to make sure I don't spoil anything on accident xD) I personaly think it's less of a "she can only feel good about herself if she puts others down", and more of a "she desperately tries to stay distant to not get hurt" kind of deal.

"Haven't I heared that before" is actually a double reference, if you don't know the deep lore in Doki Doki, this is a *SPOILER!* So careful! Since the game is a concept of infinite loop. That line is the protagonist remembering that Natsuki actually said the same thing the last time someone played it. But since it's a double reference, it also means the Tsundere reference. *Yes, I did my homework.*

this is so fun! I am very used to anime logic, character archetypes, so to see someone use actual logic to read some of these's character's and actions is very funny! (I mean in a nice way!) all of them are meant to be character tropes. Natsuki is a tsundere. Sayori is the airhead best friend. Yuri is the shy super nice girl. and Monika is the perfect girl. The thing I like about this game, is that even though the character's are super used tropes, they are fleshed out, and written in a way that makes them very human! I know you won't do the roat to every character, but all of them are interesting, deep, cool, and have their sets of problem's in their own way. I hope you enjoy Doki Doki Matt!

I love it how Matthew doesn't realize these descriptive thoughts the main character is having is just exposition so we know what is going on and who we're interacting with. Also I'm interested in this kind of playthrough because it's like he already has a general idea of what's going to happen, but he has no power to change it so he has to just live through it.

I completely agree. Natsuki is my favorite and I get why some people wouldn't like her, but chill she's not that bad. It sucks that her route is really the only way to learn about what she's going through and why she acts the way she does. I love Natsuki because of how you don't really understand her unless you give her a chance, but it also sucks cause people end up just hating on her without even bothering to look into her character.

Natsuki having been my only waifu ever a long time ago, I was just in that sarcastic mood of "Mhhh I sure do wonder who he's gonna pick ?" "Is he gonna go for the obvious and fall for Yuri like the first layer of them all also did ?" "Will he go a bit deeper and realize what's behind that thundered mask Nats is putting on ?" READ FURTHER DOWN AND SPOIL YOURSELF EVERYTHING (Not spoilers, the real stuff's at the very bottom) 19:25 Yeah she is, but you absolutely aren't ! A common thing let's players do for games with no vocal narrations is read it aloud themselves. With the way your camera is set up, the audience can't always see what you see. There's also the possibility that they read slower than you. Either way, without someone reading the dialogue, the audience doesn't always know what you're responding to.

Natsuki is my least favorite of the bunch, but I can't help but feel she's getting dogged on here. Yuri (my fave btw) called her poem "cute" specifically because of the style, completely ignoring the message and symbolism. Now I don't blame Yuri as she was trying to be both honest and nice which don't go hand in hand when you don't like something, and Natsuki's overcompensated response was definitely out of line, but despite her efforts, Yuri was making it pretty obvious she thought the poem was bad and didn't articulate it well. Still, I might just be defensive because I know these characters. Knowing the full story of the game (as well as the extra content) has a way of making people really appreciate the four girls. Not the player character though, no one seems to like him.

This game gets progressively better and more interesting as it progresses, I think you’ll really enjoy it because you tend to analyze wording and choices so much it makes you the perfect player here! Make sure to put attention to background details and hints, Youll understand the game quicker that way. Also be prepared for the worst. :)

WHAT!? You’re playing this game!? I’m so excited to watch! Besides FNAF, this is my favorite game to watch people play! I’ve literally watched dozens of people play this game, it’s been one of my most favorites since before I even got the chance to play it with DDLC+. I do have to mention that the warnings at the beginning are no joke! I’ve seen a few people ignore them and play the game and then get seriously triggered by a major event in the story (the biggest example I remember being the widely-known vtuber Project Melody). Don’t be too ashamed to take a short break after that scene or no longer play it if it gets to you. You’re mental health is most important!
