The one time I absolutely refused to tip was in Chicago where they include the tip in the price of the receipt (completely stupid). It was at our hotel restaurant and they had mislabeled food in the buffet. So when one of my friends suffered an allergic reaction and just needed some milk to calm/slow the symptoms we asked numerous times from multiple staff for said milk. Milk we knew they had in the back because of the stacks of it they had out at breakfast earlier that same day. Not a single person helped. Our waiter just noped out until after we had solved the situation ourselves. So when we go to leave, frustrated, and they give us the bill with 25% mandated tip as part of it, I straight up refused. I covered only the cost of our foods (that we mostly didn't even eat now that we were leaving to get medical care) and that any complaint or charge to our room would result in much more action from us than not tipping. Given their incompetence during a medical emergency, and their being the cause of said emergency, I felt a zero tip was more than fair.

I totally agree on the tipping…it’s gotten so ridiculous!! I went to physical therapy today and the receptionist had a tip jar! Like girl not a chance am I giving you more money after my copay! She’s not even my therapist!

Im glad tipping culture is not a thing here (Netherlands) cause i pick places according to the costs and how much i can afford. I dont go out to eat often, but when i do i try to save as much as i can so if tipping came on top of it i would never go out to eat..

We have a ~$20 minimum wage here and prices have increased to compensate and yet tipping is still everywhere. I still tip, but I'm grumbly about it. Oh and take out! I grew up where you didn't tip on takeout. When did we start tipping on takeout? And just everywhere?

There is this time I had just come home to the states from a study abroad thing the day after I go with friends to this outdoor big muliple metal bands concert. On the way home we stop to get food and drinks. By this time my jetlag has really kicked in. We leave the place, the waiter or owner comes running out yelling at us cus I forgot to give a tip since I was very lucky to remember how to walk to the car with out passing out. He yelled you forgot to tip don't come back again.

I just have to say….. I am a waitress and have been for years, when I do go out to eat, I tip accordingly. If they don’t deserve it they don’t get it. If they did above and beyond then I tip better then 20% but like I said I tip accordingly. So don’t feel like an asshole for not tipping if they don’t deserve it

I hate tipping because I don’t really have a lot of money to spend and tipping is just adding so much to the bill so I don’t tip the proper amount and I know I should be tipping the proper amount. It’s just I don’t really have the money to afford it it’s not that I don’t want to.

@jenniferbrabham48344 ай бұрын
Cooks get paid much more per hour for their skills. Servers rely on tips. If the food is bad that's not their fault. Did they offer efficient, friendly service? If there was an issue with the quality of food, did they handle the issue professionally?
@goodluck73274 ай бұрын
@@jenniferbrabham4834 that's just me, when you take a job don't expect to live off the tips, if you get one great, but don't expect it. that's the job you choose, so yes, those mcdonalds cooks take a alot of training🤣
