Not really, because on Wii U they reverse engineered its processors (and the DS got reverse engineered too) for it to run. Talking about the official emulator btw, they reverse engineered it for it to run.

Binbok slim, though Nyxi also sells these. If you’re looking for a slightly bigger one that feels like a controller the Nyxi hyperion is great. It’s a split pad pro but less sh*tty because it actually has wireless, rumble and motion controls

I think the reason there are no DS games on Switch Online is that the DS has a touch screen, and the Switch's touchscreen can only be used when the console is not connected to a TV. On the Wii U, you could use the touchscreen while still being connected to a TV. (I don't think it's likely Nintendo will implement using a joystickas the touch cursor) Also, the Switch does not have a microphone like the Wii U and 3DS did, so it could be a problem if the game requires it.

There’s an accessory that lets you rotate the switch so it’s vertical with the joy cons on the side - I think using that would be the only way to make it work

Honestly Nintendo could port DS games if they were selective with which titles they bring over. New Super Mario Bros. as you showed could easily make it over, Pokémon could easily make it over (though those games wouldn’t likely come over for different reasons). Really only microphone heavy games couldn’t theoretically make it over so sadly no Nintendogs or Zelda Spirit Tracks, every other game would likely just be less than ideal depending on the screen setup.

There’s a weird accessory that I bought that has almost no use, called the FlipGrip. It basically lets you attach a Joycon to the top and bottom of the switch so you can hold it vertically. If Nintendo does decide to give us DS games, that would be absolutely perfect.

For some games you need a mic, like for bowsers inside story and a dora game. Also some games would be hard to play without a stylus. I don't understand how on the n64 emulator they made the triangle buttons the freaking right analog stick instead of the dpad

It's not that it cannot run them. It's more on how to play them without having to use a ridiculous control method. Especially with many DS games only using the touch screen, so those types of games are already impossible to play on TV Mode.

Reasons why ds games arent on switch or wii u games as much either. Its because of the touch pad and controls. Altho dont get me wrong, i want ds to come to switch badly mainly because some ds games are amazing like one of my favs of all time is bowser inside story. I want it badly on the switch. But sadly i know why they dont bring it to the switch soon is because touch pad wont work in dock/tv mode. Some games required sound like talking to it or blowing into it which is weird then also when some games as it to turn it sideways. So they would have to recreate it for the switch.
