Playing Duke Nukem 3d on IBM Aptiva from 1996

Duke 3d such a classic game from 1996.
Playing on a matching 1996 IBM Aptiva. I havent played it in about 20 years.

That was my first PC back in 1995 - mine was only 75mhz with 8mb RAM but it was great for pre-Half Life shooters like Doom, Duke, Hexen and Heretic.

I paid 2700 back in I think 1997 for this pc! I miss the new feeling! I built a gaming system that could do circles around this pc 500 time and I paid 980 for it! But I still miss this one😂

Great video, thanks for the upload. perhaps someone can help, I’m trying to revive our family’s first pc that we bought from bestbuy back in 1995 for $3,200, an IBM Aptiva 2176. I’m trying to use the recovery disc that came with the PC but the CD only boots with the original HDD because the original pre installed Win95 came with the configure files that boots the CD. I created a boot floppy disk but do not know how to access the cd drive once I boot the system with the disk. Any info will be much appreciated. Sheesh, win95 sure is tough to work with.

So I hate to ask dumb questions but I was born in the late 90s so I don't know. With that said what's up with the different versions of this game? By that I mean the music isn't sc-55 I'm used to in the version i own. That and things look way more compressed here. I get it's the first port of the game from 1996 but did they update it? Did they re-release it?

No the sc-55 sound ur referring to was called ''Microsoft GS Wavetable'' that came with later computers around the win98 era it was just compressed midi music. DUKE NUKEM 3D is being played on the sound blaster 16 in this video which pretty much every PC had in the mid 90s.

I thing its a Pentium 133-166 MHz, 16 mb ram or 32? Graphics S3 trio 2 MB or virge. Run rasy , frames arę smooth And svga res.
