The Hinges on that Laptop is gonna break soon, you just wait. My MSI GE76 Raider's hinges broke today. MSI is facing a Class Action Lawsuit in USA because of their overly tightened hinges that hundreds of people have broken from normal usage. Sad but true. Also: MSI's Thermal Paste is like dried bubble gum: Absolute CRAP! But the over heating issue is easily fixed. Just remove the old crappy Thermal Paste and replace it with Noctua NT-H2 3.5g and it will run like a dream. My new Temps went from "Burning my fingers on the WASD buttons" (yes, for real) - to sitting steady at 38°C when playing heavy games like Borderlands 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. So no more heating issues. Other smaller issues disappeared as well, likely caused by the previous overheating.

I actually remember the N-gage being released. Because it was a phone AND a games console, it fell short as both for most people. I saw a preowned one once in my local games store. As they kept the niche items downstairs (and most people didn't even realise there was a downstairs) not many people knew about the best things that store sold (and that they had an arcade machine that you could play for free).

N-Gage was basically what mobiles are today.. phones that can also play apps/games. The problem of course was it tried to market itself as a handheld console alternative instead of a phone with gaming capabilities. And the technology just wasn't up to par back then so Nokia threaded the line and tried to do something that did both but excelled at neither leading it to be passed on by a lot of folks.

They don't "give away" their IP, however last I checked they were cheap to lease back than. Typical lease for an IP is around $40000-45000. This makes it a prime IP to pick up for a fledgling game studio to pick up with some of the money they got from loans. You'll easily get that $40 or so thousand dollars back, pay back the rest of what they owe GW, pay their workers, and still make a profit.

Battlesector got me back into 40k after 20 years. Great game, but I was confused by what a Primaris marine was so googled it and got sucked back in lol. Regarding Combat Cards, the original physical game from the 1990s used real art too so it was an homage to that. (Jordan Sorcery on KZbin did a great video about it)

I personally do like Gladius. While it's true, that the story is lacking, at least each faction has it's own goals and paired with the random maps, it has somewhat of a replayability. Apart from that, it's one of the few games that still gets supported by the developer (last patch was at the end of last month). Also Boltgun is a fun game which a play on and off for a few hours once a week or so (not the biggest FPS guy, but the combination of artstyle and humor - not taking itself to serious - does something for me). Personally I'd love to see something like a total war game for 40k - apocalypse scale tactical army rts - as that would really fit in the universe. Like a real tyranid swarm or ork horde against regiments worth of guardsmen :D
@TabletopTime

I'd love a campaign style old school call of duty type game, but imperial guard trench fighting vs Orks or something. Gladius didn't get a bad review, it was a "it is good for the genre if you like 4x but could have been more"

BFG Leviathan was really good. It was a rare actual mobile game in an era of clash of clans or gacha nonsense. I played bfg tabletop as a kid, and it was a 1 to 1 adaptation of the tt rules, except a game took 10 minutes instead of 3 hours. Leviathan made me realize just how great and interesting the tt rules were, but how much speeding it all up and automating measurements and such really improved it. I had it on my phone for years, but no new content ever came out for it, which was a bummer, because it had so few factions.

See that mentality is what enables games like Dark Tide to come out. We shouldn't forgive and forget. Darktide was finished and fully released. It just wasn't good enough. I feel like Rogue Trader will be pretty great with a few problems as the developer Owlcat Studios made Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and both of those games are great Isometric CRPG games with weak elements like Kingdom Management and Crusade Management and Battles so therefore for me I think Rogue Trader will be a great CRPG game with lots of elements taken from the Tabletop RPG game and a good amount of character classes and options, but it may have weak Space Combat missions that are required for the story.

Quick note unrelated to the rest of my message: I heavily recommend keeping an eye on Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader! It’s a CRPG in development by Owlcat games, makers of Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous which are some of my favourite games and therefore I have very high hopes for RT. Currently it’s got a playtest going on available if you pledge money to it as, like the Pathfinder games, they make a system of getting a bunch of funding from fans and you typically get some pretty need rewards too! I’ve dabbled in the playtest for 9 hours and it seems pretty good, keeping in mind the current development stage. Not gonna go much much further because I know what my attention span is like and it’ll struggle playing the same bits of game again I loved killteam! Me and my father played countless hours together I still find it amusing that it took me until 2017 to realise 40k was a thing, even tho I had played DOW1, 2, space marine and the aforementioned kill team 😅 My fondest memories are definitely killteam (Eternal Crusade being a close second, being the thing that introduced me to a guild that developed my interest into 40k and chased the development of my Soul Drinkers character that you see in use as my pfp today even with the absolution of the guild, still working on him :D) tho, introduced me to the beauty of the heavy bolter that still remains my favourite piece of weaponry

Man.. I *really* tried to give DoWIII a fair go... but it was just so soooo terrible. My biggest pet peeve was that units just died far too fast which if this was a single unit style like SC is fine since you could micro around to get the most out of each unit but as a squad everyone just fell like flies since there was no actual way to keep a dying squad member alive longer. The worst part of this was was the fact that on top of the quick time to kill for each unit in a squad the balancing was just wrong... like take the basic units... Space Marine vs Boyz vs Dire Avenger... the Eldar ended up being the "fattest/hard to kill" over all because they came with shields on top of their normal HP.. the Eldar which is supposed to be the least durable of the base races aside from the specialised Striking Scorpions and Fire Dragons.. and with the Orkz hp difference being negligible to a Space Marine and being made up for with more numbers it ends up with a Space Marine Squad being the squishiest out of the 3!

To me, DOW2 Retribution with the (still updated (bugfixing, new content etc.) and better balanced) Elite Mod is the best that DOW has to offer, and I have played them all, on- and offline. The level of tactical micromanagement, positioning (with cover and shotblockers etc.), the suppression mechanics, destructible environments, unit preservation with veterancy levels and the skillshot-potential with various unit and hero abilities etc., etc. is unmatched, as as I am concerned. I didn't miss the basebuilding at all - it was a breath of fresh air.

There is 0% game balance. You will only have your ass handed to you by being used as a "farm" for the overly powerful Pay-To-Win Russians and Chinese, who will constantly attack. And there is no way for you to fight back or protect yourself unless YOU pay hundreds of dollars. That shit game should never have been made and should be taken down.

That's like every other mobiles base builder, I've played lost crusade before but I had the luck of being able to join one of the five strongest guilds in the server so I had protection from stronger teams, but like all other base builder mobiles it's pay to win

Man, my favorite licensed property is a mixed bag with way too many dirty needles to accidentally grab. Shame about Legacy of Dorn; it is genuinely good and giving more BL books the same treatment would have been a huge boon for dedicated 40k readers. Also, I don't usually comment on sponsors, but the Stealth 14 is a very solid laptop. I sell them at work, and I'd take it over an XPS any day. Things I'd like to see in the 2020's: -DoW 1 Remastered. Take DoW 1, update the graphics, repackage so all of the expansions are in one installer, Bob's your uncle you have my $40 for minimal effort. $45 if you do all of that and remove the Tau. -DoW 2 Remastered. Don't really need to do anything other than make the UI work at 4k+ resolutions and combine expansions. The game still looks exceptional, even a million years later. In fact, you'd have to do so little, it should just be a patch for current owners. -A very open ala Bauldur's Gate CRPG about an undercover Inquisitor stuck on a hive world, balancing survival against their beliefs. Do it in a 2D sprite engine and have Dan Abnett write the story. In fact, call it Dan Abnett's ____________. Bonus if you get to befriend a kind Ogryn. Use pen and paper rules. -A VR game where you play as an AM Techpriest building servitors, like PC Building Simulator, but really gross. -Streumon (Deathwing, Hired Gun dev) given a higher budget and more of a chance. They are extremely talented, just hampered by money. They do good work with what they have, they just need like a AA budget. If you've never played EYE: Divine Cybermancy, good lord that is an amazing first effort and you'll see its DNA in both 40k games they did. -More Slitherine. I REALLY enjoyed Armageddon, like way more than I should have. I think it is a severely underrated game; the video summed it up well: Panzer General but more accessible for a 40k fan. I'd like to see it get a Soul Storm/Retribution treatment with out of mission resource management and grand-strategy elements. Hell, something like this could be multi-world.

Awesome video! Although gotta say I completely disagree with DoW 2 being anything of an improvement over the first game. The only point it gets in my book is visuals, I gave my copy away a month after I bought it to another 40k fan in my area (who also strongly disliked the experience)

Weird to hear 'Dawn of War 2 was better in every way than its predecessor'. At the time everyone hated it for moving away from the RTS format. I think people only started to like it when the third one came out and people saw what a bad Dawn of War looked like

It must be so specific to your gamer group. We loved company of heroes style RTS and were tired of the build and rush of early RTS. DoW 1 still kingly

@@TabletopTime In those days there weren't gamer groups, there were clandestine internet forums where fans gathered. And fans were not happy!!! I love Dawn of War 2 though

The continous change of the Dawn of War type games is totally confusing. I remember Dawn of war Dark Crusade and Soulstorm and Dawn of war 2 very well, but newer titles seem to be completely different games. 👀
