I can’t tell you how many hours me, my friends and cousins poured into this game. We kept up with watching wrestling at the time and created all the new characters. This game was my first gamecube game as a kid :)

This game was made while it was WWF but it was released at the time when they changed their name to the WWE which is why the arenas in the game look late 2001 - early 2002 ish, they were allowed to keep the WWF logos in them because it was too late to change everything to WWE at that point.

Nice to see you back man. This was not only my first wrestling game, but also this is what got me into wrestling games back when i was a kid. I wasn't even much of a wrestling fan back then. I remember spending hours with this game, but i always get pummeled either way. Never had a really good idea what WWF/E was all about back then, i just pictured it like what the UFC was years ago. But with the WWE today, puts a bad taste in my mouth. Always enjoyed the BGM in the game though, just saved a playlist of it on my computer. I would love to see you review more racing games. Would be awesome!!

This game's not the best, but not the worst either. It can be pretty fun and humorous at times. One thing I really hated, but you never mentioned here, is that the CPU's will all target you as soon as you try to do a finisher. Since animations can be interrupted, they can just punch you in the middle of your finisher and make you waste it. And trust me, they interrupt you every chance they get. They'll even interrupt you sometimes in the middle of a normal grapple. There is an upside however, as it doesn't just apply to you. The CPU's get interrupted just as much. One amazing thing about this game that continued into XIX is, you can trick the CPU's into wasting their special on the referee. If you stand near the ref when one of the CPU's tries to use a special and move out of the way, the CPU will use their finisher on the ref. I can't tell you how many times the ref got the Last Ride, Rikishi Driver, and Razor's Edge from dumbass CPU's trying to grab me.

First off got to say it's great to see you back Nikateen, been almost 2 years but you finally returned. I had hope and looks like my hope paid off. Look forward to more content Anyway as for this game it's..ok, I mean I look at it as more of a prototype for better games like WrestleMania 19 and the Day Of Reckoning games but I feel it's an alright game on it's own. Path of champions mode was basically an arcade ladder and at the end you'd face a champion and unlock a character. Iirc the unlocks are as follows Tag Titles: Stacy Keibler Light Heavyweight: Raven Hardcore: Rhyno World Title: Chris Benoit Intercontinental: Vince McMahon European: Ric Flair. As for Battle For The belts: it's basically like path of champions but the belt data saves to a memory card and you get to name the belts I think, idk really myself as I never messed with it. But yeah overall this was an ok game, it had more content than it Honestly had any right to have, actually it had a battle royal mode that wasn't in the following games for some reason which sucks as I would've loved for it to be in the following 3 games.
