Maybe this comment will pass unnoticed but anyway...when I was a little boy, papa and mama were barely in my house because they were working almost all day long. And we had an old PC, installed with a N64 emulator. I used to play Mario 64 all afternoon long until they arrived or sometimes I woke up at 1-2 AM on weekends to play some other games with the lights off until 5-6 AM...just a bright image on the screen on a dark night. Videogames were my companions back then, times were hard where we lived. And well, I never got rid of that trait: sometimes I stay until really late, being it a rainy night or spend some afternoons in a cold day...though I still cherish those days, without any responsibilities....how time has changed....

So, I was literally playing my Mini-NES yesterday while it was raining 🌧. I immediately thought about this playlist and my best friend because we would listen to this a lot while playing video games on his Mini-NES. He passed away in August, and I have that Mini-NES has a keepsake of his. Not a day has gone by that I don't think of him, and I'm so sad that I will never experience the joy of bonding over our favorite games ever again.

I remember the old days, When I would save my allowance and go to the arcade to play tekken 3, metal slug, blues journey, atomic runner, mario, Kof. I would come home late and would get lectured by my parents.. I still remember the days I would play Donkey kong in the summer holidays. me and my brothers would sit waiting for our turn. Those good old days... Now those days really seem like a dream. Life is just so cruel now that we have grown up. I wish I could go back to being a kid... I don't know why but this mix, the visuals and the title just moved me to the extent of tearing up...

Damn, this brings back vibes from when I was a 12-year-old playing Cod: The Big Red One on a first generation PS2. I remember just playing that game for hours, and never stopping until I was hungry, or I had to use the bathroom. Back then, I could do that without any responsibilities, just me, my game, my TV, my blanket, and my PS2. Then the same happened when I got Star Wars Battlefront 2 for the PS2. Then I got this used Xbox 360that had a wire broken on it so it couldn't play any sound. Still, I would spend hours on it, playing Capcom vs Marvel, and Mass Effect 2. Now, I'm 19, about to go to college in 8 months, with a potential soccer scholarship to a really good school in the works. While I'm glad for it, I still long for those simple days to me playing on my PS2, and Xbox 360. It may not have been a perfect life, but it was a good way of life.
