It took me a whole two cycles to figure out you had to punch the ice pillars when I was younger, and then felix gets the fairy's hint immediately

Brap brap fellow human gamers. I grew up on the original Pokemon Red on Gameboy - probably favorite monster from that time was Flareon. Also nice to see Felix taking out the boss with the old grundle grind.

I’ve played through the game several times, and that’s the one puzzle I never solved, lol. I always bypassed it by jumping diagonally from the highest point with the bunny hood, just making the jump to the platform with the boss door. It’s not a shortcut by any means, it takes a while to get right.

I totally understand your frustration, but it's important to remember that Felix has to perform a really deceptively difficult task with these streams. At the end of the day, he is still on the job, and that entails not just playing the game utterly blind and solving the puzzles within the in-game time limit, but he simultaneously has to be an entertaining performer on camera, plus constantly respond to and engage with the live audience, lest the stream become boring and not earn enough income to be viable. Ultimately this is his primary responsibility as a host of nintendolife during stream, and if he focused solely on the game, he'd be neglecting his duties.This is all really hard to do, Felix just makes it look easy because he's such a tremendous talent!

@@Zeldarulah That's a surprising viewpoint to me that I can't say I agree with! I feel like the appeal of following streams as opposed to just watching a LP is actually pretty self evident; I think people just enjoy being able to partake in the experience directly as a social event where the streamer and the audience can enjoy the game together and create friendly banter. I feel it's especially fun when the audience can give back and help out the person streaming by sending tips and trivia about the game, I don't see anything parasitic about that! It's just a different albeit similar medium than let's plays, in my mind neither one is objectively better than the other, simply that they offer different experiences. But we all have our preferences!
